Slaughter... What do you think?

Slaughter really just seems like something they jumbled together to hold us over until the next big thing comes along.

But you can kind of tell they just threw some big ideas together without any real thought on the details of actual PVP. There is no such thing as balance in this mode.

The devs have shown time and time again an unwillingness to inject basic common sense into PVP. FFXIV's PVP has immense potential, but it hardly gets the attention it deserves and as a result the people who actually enjoy or could enjoy pvp are often turned away. You can see that now with slaughter and beyond some of the immediate fixes the devs seem to be insistent that their way is the only way at the cost of people's interest (which is deteriorating). SE really needs to get the memo that you create interest by letting people actually play the game.

Agreed. SE simply doesn't care. You have the ability to overhaul an entire MMORPG but not fix pvp? No. You just don't care. If nothing changes in 3.0 I'm gone. I'll come back in another year and see of things are better.

Because Square has shown little concern for the cares of pvpers? I dont have a problem with Slaughter, I do have a problem with Square treating us like second class citizens next to pve.

That's more a false expecation problem. Historically Final Fantasy has been a PvE centric game, even in it's past MMO iteration. I can't agree with the assumption that SE would or should deviate from that level of priority. There are other, better games for those who solely want to focus on PvP, and SE's recognized that from the start. PvP is second fiddle to PvE and always will be. I'm sorry that this upsets you.

Okay guy, you directly quote him when he's complaining about Slaughter lol. Whatever though. That aside, don't make such silly overgeneralizing statements when most of the people here with any sort of distaste towards Slaughter are actually damn good players.

I assume the real reason you feel this way is because of your other thread? How they aren't handing you your gear?
