


I think you're exaggerating both the damage and simplicity of caster LBs. One caster LB literally does nothing, even with a well timed sleep to ensure it hits. You need a minimum of 3 LBs to hit to assure you're going to take out a target. Much easier said than done, not to mention how easy they are to counter with defensive LBs.
The real problem arises when you realize that getting 3 kills with caster LBs instantly gives you a full LB bar causing the snowball effect, as Synnove mentioned earlier.
The more I play of the mode, especially with the drastic changes is strategy over the past 2 days, the more I start to think it is actually a much better mode than it appears at first glance.
I agree with this assessment. The Meta on Aether has been shifting pretty hard against the Mage Types. People focusing objectives more to prevent herding into caster LBs, lots of Defensive and Restorative Lbs to counter chain Caster LBs, and Melees are actually understanding their roles as assassins when their LB is up.
This falls in line with what I was saying before - that the Meta is new and still shifting. First impressions in an MMO environment are rarely the correct ones.

Is not a 100%. First, you would have to catch every tank with it, otherwise Tetsudo and LB counters. Second, you'd have to perfectly sync all 3 LBs otherwise healer LB counters as its heal is instant, as is tanks. And third you're not taking in account diminishing returns, purifies, etc.
I can't speak for other Data Servers, but Aether is becoming wise to Cometeor.
Healers tend to be bunched up due to medica, prism and such, all it takes is two mages to do the aoe sleep and lock the healers and there is nothing they can do against a twin mage LB if its cast at the same time, when two teams gang on one, this happens alot.Sorry, this was meant to be a post edit x.x

Cometeor spam, it's too easy to kill someone with Sleep/Bind from a safe distance, kills lead to a faster filling adrenalin bar leading to more Cometeors. It's not so much a problem with melee jobs as they don't have the 'safe distance'.
If 2 teams go against 1, there's just no way you can counter anything. Too many targets to interrupt, Cometeors wiping out your alliance in a minute or less.
Cometeor needs its damage distributed the more targets it hits or have diminishing return.
It might be just me but if you think about it, it takes 2-3 people to wipe out 48, assuming both enemy teams are stacked, having many melee jobs and are busy fighting against each other.

True, but there's also an issue with all those people in one pretty confined area for a lot of the game. When you have all your enemies inside a building, you blow up the building.
