Less kills? Yes. A lot more deaths? Not so much. Not if the team is coordinated. It's a matter of your healers knowing when your tanks and Melee are diving in to back up with LBs and heals.
There was a match where I had 7 kills as a Paladin, I really should have screenshot that. A lot of those kill counts tend to be mopping up weakened enemies with Cometeor.
Yeah, not to mention if you look at that list. All of them are from the same party, same server. I smell a pre-made.
I remember seeing people being highly supportive of limiting slaughter to 24-man, and leaving secure to 72 and 24. I can understand why after playing 72 slaughter for a bit.
Though personally, this was what made 24-man slaughter ideal for me:
Something so ridiculous and at the same time so incredibly fun that just wouldn't be practical or viable in 72 due to how alliance interaction works. Feels like it opens up far more options and levels the playing field a bit in terms of LBs.
Of course its not going to stop pre-made cometeor groups, but its a lot easier to deal with when everyone around you can be easily accounted for and spreading out a bit is somewhat safer with less enemies present.

This is why i laugh when people go 'lol tanks useless in slaughter'. Not only are they good for harassing the enemy team and coming out alive, they can completely counter the dominant strat with one button press.
Not quite, because you can't tank lb spam. Its not up no where near as frequently as cometeor spam and there are usually only a couple tanks per group on top of that. If tank LB could be built as fast as a blm/smn then I'd definitely agree with you.Okay im going to let everyone here in on a secret.

I dont think you quite realize why Cometeor is up so frequently.
Its because they get kills with the spam, which leads to more LB bar, which leads to more spamming. If you prevent the deaths during the initial spam, you pretty much neuter the strategy.
Obviously cometeor will build faster if they are getting kills without it, but then its more of a healer issue OR an issue of people overextending into the team.
Except that works for your party only. Tank Adrenaline may save the 8 in your party, but not everyone else.I dont think you quite realize why Cometeor is up so frequently.
