Or just a giant chakram like that chick from Soul Calibur, but the weapons in XIV have so far been somewhat realistic and drawn from actual weaponry. No one in history has fought with a bladed hoolahoop lol.

I would love a far eastern expansion that introduces a healer dancer with dual wield war-fans, and a samurai tank

I loved the way that SE made dancer a frontline healer in FF11 and I think that a frontline melee healer would interest a lot of people.

Personally I'd love to see the kanabo used in game. [...] According to japanese mythology it was a weapon wielded primarily by demons due to how heavy the weapon is and that demons being so strong could easily wield it.

Well... Just judging by the pictures, it kinda makes me think of a two-handed version of the macuahuitl (PLD spanking paddles). So... Dark Knight? Even if the macuahuitl still vaguely count as swords, having the sharp obsidian pieces along the edges, and these look more like clubs, but... Close enough, IMO. =)

I would like to see war hammers, both two and single handed. Also maces would be nice. And single handed axes thus more use of shields. Maybe even a crossbow.

Huh? A kanabo is basically a bat with metal studs in it. There is no sharp edge on it like a sword. It's a blunt damage weapon.

The Samurai better have both the Katana and Wakizashi... and be classified as a duel wield class (DPS of course). The SAM does not need to wield both all the time... could break it up into two stances (one dps one ???) but they should have both swords.
