Weapon types you'd like to see in game

Since currently the game is based around the weapon you have equipped determining your class/job I thought it'd be fun to see what weapons (you could even say what class/job you think might use it) people would like to see in game.


Personally I'd love to see the kanabo used in game.



According to japanese mythology it was a weapon wielded primarily by demons due to how heavy the weapon is and that demons being so strong could easily wield it.


As for what class/job it'd be I'm unsure. Maybe "Ogre Slayer" or "Berserker" maybe, I really don't have a great idea for a job to go along with it but I do think the weapon would be fun in game and would be great to see all the different looks they could make up for it.

Kusarigama! I could see it fitting a Beastmaster who uses Chains/Whips as a primary.

I bet leveling DRK's will use Kanabo's like how PLD's had macuahuitl's; they should!

I would like to see more one-handed & shield jobs myself. Ishgard once open could lend itself to many combos. And with DRK/WHM/BLM we know that just because the current incarnation of a weapon is one or two handed does not mean an opposite cannot be added and we see with the old job PLD (one handed swords) and DRK (two handed swords).

So we could team up one-handed axes and shields

Though there is no current mace weapon I would love to see a one handed mace/hammer and shield

I'm not saying it has to be that long, but some sort of sword/katana/blade dps class would be amazing. Samurai will probably come some point in heavensward though.

Having the jobs branch off of gladiator and rogue classes, respectively, is fine by me too. Just want them...

They've already said that Samurai doesn't fit with this expansion. Whenever they do a Doma-related expansion is when we'll see Samurai. If that's the expansion after Heavensward, we might see it early, same way we got Ninja a couple patches before the expansion since the dev team has all stated that they really want to put Samurai into the game. :P

Weapons I want to see? Well I'm already getting Great Sword with DRK, so maybe... Ohhh, how about Chakram?



I don't know what Job they'd be suited for, but I could see a magic/physical half-breed Job, possibly even a support job, using these. Always thought they were a fun weapon.
