    In battle Class switch

    I think this will encourage players to level up their alternative classes, looking at some of the new contents, plus the change in old contents, I'd say SE is trying to pump blood in lower level contents anyways, this way not only will the different tier contents be more active, they'll be more fun as well.

    Obviously there will be conditions. For example, class and item level will need to be content par or higher (synced), role will need to be the same, if you entered the content as a paladin, you can switch to a warrior or a dark knight, but not a monk or etc.

    The dungeons and raids allow us to be playable with pretty much any combination of classes anyways. I think this feature will make them more fun. And I'm sure players will find hilarious ways to play the current contents. Lets say this feature gets added in the game in the future, I'm sure SE will design the future contents to compliment this feature, and old contents has been nerfed anyways.

    That would effectively remove classes from the game altogether, as everyone would have access to all skills from all classes at all times. Far too homogeneous for my taste.

    I did read it, and that's the result of what you're asking for. You want to be able to freely alternate skills from all classes (or at least all classes within your current role), and keep doing so within the midst of a fight. That's the result it would have. They'd effectively become all one big combined class. I prefer having different classes play differently.

Depending on what assumes within that grey area, one would be able to swap to Ninja after finishing their Chaos Thrust combo with woven jumps in order to put up its DoTs with Heavy Thrust still rolling atop Poison bonuses complete with TA-Kassatsu-Raiton, return to DRG for Heavy and Phlebotomize, CDed Thrust combo, reapply CT, use the remained of the 30% B4B on Mutilate and Shadow Fang again... maybe even throw in some Bard DoTs instead of doing anything direct damage oriented at all... so on and so forth, wherein you become a freakish hybrid phasing through distinct styles without coherency aside from role maximization. (Within the above dps role, Monk likely would never see use simply due to its native GL mechanics...)

    ^ Note: I have no idea as to the details of what you are actually suggesting, and I have read it. Fully. (Not that there was much there.)

    Don't misquote me on a different person with a different rant please. Unless you are the same person with a different account.

    To answer yours, you should not be allowed to switch class during engagement. Meaning you can only switch during non-aggroed periods of dungeon. And in terms of cooldowns I feel it's fair that all the cross class cooldowns remain on cool down such as b4b, or raging strike. the non cross class skills should be off cooldown such as benediction.

    And in terms of gear swapping, you can already do it in dungeon with your current class gear. So the current sync system works in this situation as well.


    The purpose is not to change the core gameplay, if anything it's just to give the engagements more dynamic and options. Yesterday I was in AKHM as a monk with a FC mate, he just came back from 2 month break and was having a tough time on last boss, and the tank wasn't quite up to par for end game content either. I told the guys to kick me so I can come back as summoner so we had 1 extra battle rez. If we can class switch in dungeon, we wouldn't had to do that.
