    What is happening with FFXIV?

    I know that to many people thought that this game would FFXI-2, and to many think this way yet, but the true is that this game is very different from the other.

    But what was different about this game?

    I liked the way the recipes were. But I know that this, for many players, was so hard.

    I want just to type a petition here, if SE decide to lessen the recipes, that is fine to me, but I don't want to see that if a feather appears in my hat, the recipe don't need one, or if my staff appears jewelry, the recipe just use a stick of lumber.

    As I said, I liked the way we create our weapons, clothes, tools, and more, because they use (in graphics) all the ingredients in the recipe. That's what made this different from other types of crafts.

    I know that SE is interested for players and money, that is what WoW did, and after all, is what this game is, a business; Blizzard build an easy game where every one can play and be level 555555 in just one day, and I hope that don't happen here. And this is just an example, because I'm referring to all the game.

    And the guild points was an excellent idea, was an other way to make this part of the game really fun and entertaining, a good challenge.

    I decided to play FFXI for 6 or 7 years because it was a Japanes RPG game with MMO included, I Thought that this game would be something similar, but step by step is moving away far from this.

    I believe that Naoki Yoshida will save this game. And I like they have feedback, but just because people cry, should not change everything in the game.

    And starting from the beginning, Is this a different game from FFXI, or is like to many said, FFXI-2?

    Maybe this game became WoW-II and developed by Square-Enix. I hope not.



    Or maybe, just maybe, is not what the game is turning, maybe is the way we live our lives... Faster.

    I think what he is saying is he wants crafting to remain challenging and complex. And a hat with a feather should include an actual feather for that hat.

    I somewhat agree on his take. Crafting shouldn't be too easy, but at the same time, it shouldn't be a pain in the arse. But if he clicks on Aster's link to that thread, it should ease his worries.

    Hmmm... I sort of got that, but the whole "level to 5555555 in WoW in one day" threw me off and also the "petition" part!

    Anyway, I don't really understand this whole debate on crafting. Making a item require more mats or less mats doesn't actually make crafting any easier or harder. Maybe 5% of people (random number guess right there ) actually go out and farm all the mats to make the gear they want, the rest just buy them from market wards. Well that's what I do at least... so it doesn't make it "harder" to have more mats just more things to buy and more time / money to use lol.

    I understand people wanting more "realism" though, like the OP said if a hat has a feather the recipe should have a feather! The way they had crafting setup makes logical sense, it's just a bit of overkill for some of the items.

    yeah, shouldn't take rocket science to see how 100% hq rates by standard bashing a synth is easier than using abilities, touch ups, bold synthesis, and waiting when needed.......

    when i make an item i either craft the parts myself or farm them myself. when i want to make a piece of finished gear for myself i always use all hq items at least +1. there's no way i am going to spend the outrageous prices for hq parts from the wards on my server. 500k for a iron rivet hq? no thank you. if i want a piece of hq gear i do my own gathering and craft up the items i need.

    The difficult would be to get all mats in HQ for your 100% craft. I think SE would reduce the chance to get HQ mats. And forget your +1 mats, they would be NQ in the time.

    yes, i can see how getting a hq r12 iron ingot will be more difficult than getting r50 iron greaves as a r50 armorer. that doesn't even begin to make any logical sense.

    no, you can say forget hq mats all you wish, but hq now means i collected to get hq mats. just because part of the hq now won't be then is irrelevant. if i was willing to take the time to get them then means i would take the time to do so afterwards.
