I'm basing this off of the image seen on Lodestone, and would like to say we won't look transparent when the skill is in use. I could care less either way, but I already know some people are going to complain about it come time it is implemented... :/

Checked in Yoshi-P about some of the questions that popped up in this thread!

Will there be some kind of invisible effect for when you're under the effects of "Coeurl Step"?
We're looking into having a kind of half/semi-visible effect on your character.

Will we be attacked by NMs that are higher than rank 50?
It depends on the specific NM. So be on the watch out for very strong enemies that are nearby!

I'm going to go out on a limb say it probably depends on whether the NM aggros you or not and what their hidden level is. It's not like the Sirocco was going to attack you in the first place. And Daddy Longlegs has an effective level around 42, so the relevant ability would protect you.

But the Great Buffalo, Dodore or the Elder Mosshorn? Go fish!

I apologize if this has been asked but what exactly does the dev team plan to do with the eluder skills? With the introduction of these sneak abilities it appears the abilities purchased with Guild Marks will be completely useless. If I may perhaps suggest something in the manner that you change Eluders to work like these upcoming sneak abilities however they work on any level but only on those mob types.

Since there will be a point where a gatherer will find themselves around a mob over lv 50 I think it would be wise if the Eluder abilities could at least be revamped to work on any level mob of those mob types. At least then they can see themselves being useful rather then a one time lol 10 min recast ability. Seriously that's prolly the most dissapointed I've ever been with an ability. You use it and you can evade one ONE mob. I mean seriously did the dev team that made that move consider how utterly useless that ability is. It would've worked better as an aura that protect you against a mob type for a certain amount of time and if they did that then you wouldn't have to keep adjusting mob placement. The only reason mob placement needs to be adjusted is because the manner in which we can get around is hampered by the inability to sneak and invisible around.

The reason why mob placement worked in XI is because we had abilities to conceal ourselves from stronger mobs allowing us to move forward without being forced to engage in battle, but when it get rid of such a unique trait in an mmo you really put XIV a step behind in terms of what XI offered. I'm pretty sure a lot of people were confused by the lack of sneak invisibility in XIV since it was a pretty unique thing to see offered in an MMO.

I agree that all we need is sneak and invisibility. Spells, potions etc. I was SHOCKED not to see it in FFXIV.

You Devs could save a lot of time by skipping the eluder and stealth skills or traits and just give us those.

It really seems useless to be capped at level 50 mobs when what I really need is to sneak by those level 80 crabs guarding Isles of Umbra.

Seconded. We just need true stealth capabilities - not something that's tied to a specific class or requires leveling and obtaining guild points in a class my not not necessarily even wanted to have leveled..

Or, as an alternative to stealth, refining mob roaming patterns so that it's easier to get from point A to point B is another option. Realistically speaking, it makes little sense for aggressive mobs to hang around well traveled areas - previous adventurers would've been attacked by them and smashed them into oblivion (with the exception of NMs). If there's no sneak/invis as we knew it in FFXI, there should be an aggro free way to get to any destination.

I like the idea that DoL can actually do their field work in the vicinity of aggressive monsters. In FFXI, you couldn't do any mining/harvesting while under the effects of stealth abilities/spells/consumables. So I think that's great for DoL.

Can we get a Disciple of Everything Else equivalent that just lets us stroll through the hordes? Imagine strolling through Kuftal Tunnel (pre 75) without sneak/invis/prism powders/silent oils/spectral jig.

If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
