    Shroud Soil Seeds

Last week I planted chamomile and flax using grade 3 Thanalan soil. Next to one of the flax plants, I put a krakka root in grade 3 Shroud soil. The flax and the roots do not have any crosses that I am aware of, so the root did not affect the Jester seeds I was trying to farm.

However this morning when I harvested the krakka root I was also given six linseeds (flax). Is it a common thing for shroud soil to produce seeds? Does this work with most plants or just certain ones?

Thanalan soil INCREASES the chance of getting a crossbreed seed, but I believe all gardening has a chance of obtaining seeds, it's just more likely for Thanalan soil, so people aiming for the seeds use the appropriate soil, but it's not impossible to get them using other soils, just not as likely.

    I have had similar happenings.

Two parts, first Shroud soil increases yields, including the seed yield. However the odds on getting seeds at all is lower than with T. soil.

Second, the most comprehensive gardening site I know of, http://www.ffxivgardening.com/ has many errors.

Yeah you have to decide between having a near-guaranteed chance at seeds (Thanalan soil) or a rare chance at seeds but a larger payout (Shroud Soil). As an example, when trying to breed for the 2nd tier chocobo foods using G3 shroud soil produces 9 seeds if it manages to breed.
