[Dev1084] DoT/HoT shown in the chat log (Can I Have It?)

One of the most fundamental features in any MMO that has DoT/HoT spells. Why doesn't the chatlog show them and when can we expect to see them? The napkin math theorycrafters and players who like to extensively test abilities would like to know. Any Dev response would be much appreciated and if you agree with the above statement please add your Thumbs Up!

Aslong as it can be filtered without filtering other stuff. What I mean is I want it to be a category of its own like "Harmful Periodic effect on/by You/Allies/Others ; Helpful Periodic effect on/by You/Allies/Others.

Most of all I'd like to see the floating combat text above the party/mobs head for periodic DoTs/HoTs and preferably in a slightly different color then damage.

I don't know anyone who would want the chat logs to show protect/shell/spikes type buffs being applied to each player individually especially considering prot/shell need to be re-applied every 4-8 min.

    BUT

DoT should be shown in the log, does it show if "player XYZ is poisoned" now? I feel like the log is a mess and I have learned to rely on visual UI cue's to do my mage duties. I do miss the day's of FFXI where my RDM or BRD was always on enfeebling duties and used to have a very very tidy log with enfeeble's showing in a very NEON like color.

They not only should have an option to show them in the chat log as a status effect, but we should get he option to see how much damage per tick a dot is doing.

I think that they should add an increased focus to dots in general, adding more to the game, and making the a bigger focus for at least one class. We need a class that is specifically designed to deal their primary damage by dot.

The same goes for hot. We should have a healing class who's primary focus is healing with hots.

Just my 2 gils' but I did like the OP post as well.

This, while a more detailed description, is exactly what I wanted to convey in the OP. If they should be shown in the combat log, they should also show each tick of damage. To further that, it should be shown in the floating battle test as well.

Just like everything else shown in the chatlog, you would have the option to toggle it on/off. More options in an mmo = always better. Ignorance is bliss though right?
