I'm a noob girl..
Welcome to internet, where everyone is a girl.
How do I get a lot of Allagan Tomestones of Philosophy/poetics/mythology in a short time? and what can I get from it other than armor?
Well the armor, weapon and accessories will be your main goal. You can also get minions and crafting materials with them. Best way to get soldiery and poetics are daily roulettes, hunts and TBH all high ilevel dungeons.
Tomestones of mythology cannot be obtained anymore, they are obsolete.
When do I get cool mounts?
This depends on which mounts seem to be cool for you. For example the Behemoth is from veteran reward (playing for 270 days I guess), each beast tribe has it's own mount (you get it for getting the highest reputation with one tribe and for paying some gil), you can get an unicorn for leveling a WHM, some are for achievements (2 from PVP), 2 for playing a tank for quite some time, Sleipnir is from cash shop.
How do I get an armor that suits my level? or a good armor in general OTL
You should get armor for soldiery and then replace it with poetics parts as you will get 450 poetics weekly. You should also focus on getting a few items from World of
Darkness (1 weekly), and might also try to get a few items from Syrcus Tower before getting all that soldiery gear.
So it might go as this Syrcus Tower + Soldiery > World of Darkness + Poetics
oh and when should I start trying other classes and jobs?
That actually depends really on you, but you should probably focus on gearing up your BLM first. Also I would suggest getting other important classes leveled up for cross class skills.
What are some specific classes/jobs that has great skills that I might benefit from?
Arcanist and Archer both to 34.

Well it's at 0 because you're at max level....you can't earn any more exp points (in that class, at least).
Right now, the easiest way to get tomestones is to do Roulettes. Do all the roulettes. Also, do the Crystal Tower quests, they give a hundred tomes of soldiery with each run, I believe. Remember Poetics are still capped at 450 a week. Philosophy/myth aren't used anymore.
You can get the ponies everyone talks about in the extreme mode of the trials. If you just hit fiifty, they're a bit down the line in the story; you have to do the hard modes first.
Unlock level fifty dungeons and run them for lootyou can unlock dungeons in Mor Dhona, playing the story, etc.
You should try other classes ASAP. Arcanist/conjurer has a few cross skills you may want as a BLM. You don't need to play if you like the one class, but it's good to experiment.
Congrats on 50 ! ^^
There is so many different type of content which may fit your style of play!
basically i suggest every new 50 to start with relic quest and get your lvl 90 zenith. this will unlock several things : more difficult primals and raids (coil) or more relic quests , etc, which will bring you some more powerfull gear.
Also, make friends ! This is the best way to get the most out of this game. End game is much more fun with a circle of friends (not necessarly from fc)
To get the maximum tomes , unlock the exp roulette
so to resume :
- Relic quest to get your job lvl90 weapon (this will branch on several other interesting content)
- Finish the story
- Unlock all dungeons
- Make friends ! (help ppl , force them to help you
- Try other classes as askaray says
and take your time, you not in a rush
Also, dont expect everybody to do everything for you ! i see too many new players getting disapointed because they feel ppl dont care about them. This is not necessarly the case.
Be patient with your surrounding and enjoy discovering stuff ^^
Others have already told you what you need to do, but my advice is to do the dailies every day. You get alot of Sol and Poet tomes. When you are level 50, you can already do the Main Scenario and Low Level Roullete. Then we have the weekly Hunts which give 100 Allied Seals.
Hildibrand Season 1
Do it and prepare your body!

Unfortunately, due to poor planning on SE's part, newbies like yourself are going to be locked out of the best Roulettes (High, Expert, and Trial) for quite a while.
- High Roulette requires an average equipment level of 90, and fresh-to-50 your gear ilvl is probably around 49-52. High Roulette also requires that you complete a large portion of the Main Scenario questline in order to complete the Snowcloak dungeon. Completing Main Scenario IS something you ought to do, but it will take a while!
- Expert Roulette requires an avereage equipment level of 100, and completion of yet another Main Scenario dungeon, the Keeper of the Lake.
- Trial Roulette requires an average equipment level of 90, and completion of trials late in both the Main Scenario and Hildebrand questlines.
The only Trials you'll likely have available at first are Low Roulette and Main Scenario Roulette. Main Scenario Roulette is probably your best method for earning Tomestones of Soldiery, which can be used to reach high equipment levels relatively quickly. Try to do it once every day! Even if that's ALL you do to earn Soldiery, you'll earn enough for a piece or two of equipment each week.
As mentioned, Crystal Tower is a good source of equipment and Tomestones of Soldiery, as well. Early on, you'll only be able to access the Labyrinth of the Ancients, but that still provides level 80 gear, with very few people competing for it.
If you haven't already, I recommend you join a Free Company. Try to find one that's sociable and friendly to newbies. They can answer your questions much more quickly than the forums can! You can frequently hear people shouting advertising their Free Company; try to find one that sounds good to you.
[This] may help you out some, along with what everyone else has said.
You can pick and choose what to do, of course - Don't feel pressured to do extreme primals or Coil if that's not what you're into. I'm not into raiding, so I haven't even finished the first set of Coils.
Philosophy and mythology are no more. They were the original tomestones, but they're now obsolete (and removed) due to soldiery and poetics being added. You can get crafting materials, Thavnairian Mists (used for upgrading your relic weapon), and i100 Soldiery weapons if you buy 10 Rowena's Tokens (130 soldiery each, total of 1,300) - which you should only do after you get your other soldiery gear bought. You can get through a lot with just your relic weapon zenith (that's what the Mists are for). Until you get your relic weapon, you can do the Hard Mode primals to get their weapons (you need to do the primals for your relic weapon anyways). My bf and I got ifrit weapons, because Ifrit was a lot of fun (and we didn't want to tackle Titan with ilvl 55 weapons). Sorry for rambling there, just trying to give some info.
Cool mounts just depend on what you think is "cool." [Minion Menagerie] shows all the mounts and how you obtain them.-When do I get cool mounts?
Totally hate the BLM artifact armor, myself. Really ugly. I was SO happy when glamours came out and I could cover it with something cute (I had the mythology BLM gear at the time, ilvl 90, only difference is color and it wasn't patchy). Just make sure you're wearing your full BLM set unless you have something with a higher ilvl. :P It'll be gone soon. It should be higher ilvl than anything 46-49, so make sure you have them equipped and not something from Aurum Vale or such. When you look at the stats, the item level is the grey-black bar directly above "THM ACN BLM SMN" or whatever the requirements are for that gear.-How do I get an armor that suits my level? or a good armor in general OTL
bc my current armour looks basic af and I didn't like my artifact armour tbh
Doing hunts so you can get soldiery armor would be a good route if you're in a hurry - but really, just do what you feel like doing when you feel like it. You can join a hunt linkshell, do endgame quests, and go do hunts off and on if you want. Once you're confident enough, head into the Crystal Tower questline and you can do the raids Labyrinth of the Ancients (ilvl50 requirement, drops ilvl 80 gear), Syrcus Tower (ilvl 70 requirement, drops ilvl 100 gear, also drops sands & oils for upgrading your soldiery gear to ilvl 110), and World of Darkness (ilvl 90 requirement, drops ilvl 120 gear).
I personally recommend finishing your class quest, then jumping into the Main Story line and finishing it up first. When you do Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium, watch the cutscenes. People WILL be dicks and start the battles without you, but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying the cutscenes and story. You can always run it again to do the battles - they're pretty fun. You should watch a video on the final boss of Prae though, right before you head in, that way you know what's going on. You should've noticed from the pre-50 dungeons that FFXIV likes fun mechanics.
My cross class skills on my Black Mage are: Physick (Arcanist), Raging Strikes (Archer), Quelling Strikes (Archer), Eye for an Eye (Arcanist), and Virus (Arcanist). Technically, I don't have Quelling Strikes either, but I need it and it's very, very useful for a Black Mage to have. I've just been putting off leveling my bard. Either way, the other two skills you can use as cross classes (Ruin and Eagle Eye) are totally useless, so you should be using the other five. :P-What are some specific classes/jobs that has great skills that I might benefit from?

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.
Congrats for getting to level 50. Hopefully you did Praetorium and the main story up to that point. Then it would congrats for completing the tutorial. The question really is what is NOT next? Have you tried joining a FC so you can play together and help each other or do you insist on playing solo? Do you PvP? Because a lot decisions need to made depending on what your playstyle is. You may want to level a healer or tank to 50 so you can help out your friends?
