Interacting with Canons

How do you interact with cannons found in some dungeons, such as the ones in Castrum Meridianum?

I tried clicking on it, both left/right, I can select it but I could not figure out how to fire it.
Once selected if I mouse over the mob I can see the icon change to a sword but clicking on the mob didn't fire. Again I tried both left/right but nothing would work. With the boss I can load the cannon by clicking on the ammo but once loaded, again, I can select cannon but cannot fire it.

What did I miss?

On mouse/KB, after selecting the cannon you pick the cannonfire action on the new bar that pops up. Hold the right mouse button and move the camera to aim the circle on the ground (it defaults to the center of your screen). It will be orange if you are aiming somewhere in range, purple if not. After that you click the left mouse button to fire on that spot and anything within the circle will take damage.

If you have used the caster limit break before it works the same way.

The cannons normally use the pet hotbar so check if you have that hidden.

pick the cannonfire action on the new bar that pops up.

thanks, this is what I was missing. now that I was looking for a new action bar I found that it became my "pet bar" which I have setup off to one side for easier access so I wasn't noticing any changes on my UI.

It's the same with the Magitek Armor, I couldn't figure out how others were firing them but now I see that it also becomes your "pet"

And, with a recent patch, the abilities of mounts and canons have replaced your hotbar 1's slot, as well as the "pet" bar above. So if you have pet bar especially enabled, you should see it in 2 places now.
