    Heavensward and Soken's vision for field music?

    Will we be seeing looping field music with memorable themes as was the case in XI and 1.0? It was these sorts of themes that really created a personality for an area and helped form fond memories for me. ARR's field music did not have the same effect, with it fading out so rapidly and only popping up in certain areas. As can be gauged from recent dungeons and as was mentioned during the recent fanfest, Soken has at least acquiesced to allowing the defining theme of dungeons to repeat and it has, in my opinion, helped make them memorable, especially Tamtara. That said, has there been any indication as to whether or not Soken will continue on with how field music was handled in 2.0?

    looping field music, yes please!

    theres some great tracks in game, but they're limited
    to a smal region of a map, or they are short, and once
    they end, its done, until night time

    Bump, still interested in perhaps a dev response or at least some discussion on the topic. I feel that memories lose cohesion if you aren't able to create a solid link between a memorable track and the area in which it played. While I enjoy a lot of the ARR combat and boss encounter themes, the field music is sorely lacking.

    I'd also like to know if there's a possibility for looping field music.
    I agree with Teucioint on how important it is for the memories of the game and the way you experience each area.
    I mean, to this day I still remember the music of Rabanastre from FF XII or the theme of Treno from FF IX.

    Hope the new music field tracks will be VERY long and would be nice to have the option to turn on/off the loop.

    p.s. i remember time ago, Soken mentioned he would have done tracks changing, depending on the weather... it was an abbandoned idea?

    Aye the longer looping dungeon music is a MUCH bigger improvement. Would like to get more personality to the fields as well.

    Music is def a large portion in my Final Fantasy memories. My favorite Field themes are far too... I don't know. On Westerly Winds never feels like it finished the whole song.

    Sorry for the bump, but I wanted to note that I feel that the field music that Soken has made is quite nice, I really enjoy the Shroud's music. But once again, the problem lies in the lack of completeness and looping.
