How to handle being double teamed?

Every match I've played in the last week has started off with Maelstrom and Twins ignoring each other and bearing down on the Flames right off the bat. It's pretty much completely killed my interest in PvP - wait for 30-60 minutes to get into a match and lose in the first minute because the other teams ignore each other. Often we can claw back to an almost second and occasionally win but people get demoralized easily when matches start out this way.

So... what can be done to counter this besides hoping Maelstrom and Twins realize the other exists? My guess is tight communication with rigid focusing. Anyone have any ideas?

It's really dumb slaughter has such a focus on mid. At least in secure you're split up in such a way that this kind of double teaming is impossible.

This is anecdotal and I don't know if it fits your scenario, but from many matches where my alliance was double-teamed, or we and another faction focused someone - 9 times out of 10 I've made the observation that when a team spreads out too thin too far out theyre more likely to get tagteamed.

Thin spreads look like easier kills, so all other 48 players are going to be more inclined to make those thin spreads their target

    ..

Or you're faction could have been on a winning streak in your data center, and the other two teams are adapting.

In my data center, Flames have a ridiculous 0.8 win ratio.. Adders are now camping Maelstrom to avoid feeding Flames and rack up their own kill score...

I'm 100% sure it's their adaptation to Flames' win rate on Aether. I don't blame them for doing it because there's nothing to stop them and it accomplishes their goals of at least not losing to Flames. Just really frustrating to play against, but I'll try to keep my team more compact. Thanks for the ideas!

This past week Gilga Flames premade have been running rampant in slaughter, so every time a slaughter match pops Storm and Adders are trying to knock them out.

Storm is double teamed as they usually are in Secure on Primal.

Most of the good Flames jumped to Adders on Primal and Flames has almost zero wins on this data center. Flames seem to have given up, LOL. Just went against an Excalibur premade that did nothing but head to Storm spawn, didn't even go mid... they basically handed Adders the win.

Not sure what games you've been playing, but from the ones I've played Mael is clearly last place.

It's usually a run between Adders or Flames before the Maelstrom decides to derp it up and attack the 2nd place position. Nobody really cares about Mael on Primal; it's either stop Adders winning streak or prevent Flames from breaking it.

I find the issue with pulling hate, is getting targeted and running back for heals running thru them and jumping down the platform helps a lot I usually do this stealth then jump back up for a trick attack. With full CDs I can get the solo kill usually. Overextending is not a popular thing but I think it can be useful.

    I like your style.

Baiting and over-extending are two very different things

Did you look at the overall standings on Primal? There are maybe a small handful of Flames on there. And the win streaks/weekly wins that my linkshell has say otherwise. -shrug- I don't know what to tell you other than I am probably not in those games you speak of since there are usually two or three going at once in peak hours. One of my friends did have an extremely unlucky streak of 30 losses and 1 win last week while others had 16 wins and 1 loss so I'm not sure how that happened... I think a lot of newer players ended up in his games.

I will not dispute that Adders did well last week, but basically Flames are dead last in every game I play outside of 24 mans at like 3am.

In the above list when set to Primal there are a total of ...

    51 Adders
    37 Storm
    13 Flames

I mean come on now... It used to be that Flames were our main competition but judging from some of the GC swapping pre-patch, that has changed. I mean, I know for a fact most of the top Flames PvPers on my server left for Adders just before 2.5, lol. I have some of them in my linkshell after all. I wish I played more last week since I usually try to get 100 matches in at least but I was busy with some new patch additions and crafting/gathering.
