For crying out loud will the 2002, 90002 errors stop?

I haven't been able to properly play on my ps4 in over a week now without major lag spikes, being kicked off the game or unable to log in at all because of these problems and NO ONE has the answers. Can this be fixed ASAP?! Can anyone help my situation?! I know I'm not the only one with these issues so is there something Square Enix can do? Or another players suggestions? I'm so sick of it. Thinking about unsubscribing if it keeps up. No point in playing if I can't even do anything without erroring and being booted off.

PSN has been having a rash of problems again... may not be anything SE can do about that.

Image updates periodically, note the time-stamp to see how current it is. More details available at the link above, like this:

    Most reported problems:

    Log-in (42%)
    Online gaming (38%)
    Store (18%)
And this snippet from a report that was linked from the twitter feed also at the above link:

NEW YORK — On Sunday, the PlayStation Network went down yet again — this time not allowing people to sign in and play games or watch movies.

Immediately, rogue online hooligans claimed responsibility for disrupting the network. But was it really hackers? Or just routine maintenance?

Sony still doesn’t say. Via its PlayStation Twitter account Sunday night, the company only said that “engineers are investigating.”

But this is becoming a repetitive and tiring experience for the 56 million people who actively use the gaming and media network. Thousands took to Internet forums to complain, castigating Sony Computer Entertainment for being unreliable and insecure.

Kaden Fallon Jones, a gamer in Oklahoma, criticized Sony’s decision to charge for a network that doesn’t work consistently.

“I’m a lifelong fan but you’re letting me down,” she wrote on Twitter.

The PlayStation Network has always had problems. The worst was when Sony was hacked in April 2011, suffering a month-long outage and losing subscribers’ credit card and personal data.

But it’s been especially patchy lately. In August, digital punks calling themselves “Lizard Squad” interrupted the PlayStation Network along with several others. On Dec. 8, they attacked knocking the network offline again. They successfully took down the network yet-again during Christmas, ruining new gifts for millions of people.

On Sunday evening, during the Super Bowl, the PlayStation Network wouldn’t let users sign in. The outage went on for six hours. On Twitter, someone claiming to be a member of Anonymous took credit, but other members of the online hacker collective distanced themselves and questioned the person’s claims.
    Full report here: http://kdvr.com/2015/02/02/customers...ation-network/

I play on PC, and haven't had mass disconnect issues since I got my routes cleaned up by my ISP's Tier3 guys almost a year ago (I didn't even have trouble getting in during the DDoS last month either).

I don't think it is a PSN problem.

I have been every 90002 every single day since patch 2.5, I don't think PSN has problems that often.

And it's not just PS4. I am having 90002 on PC as well, exactly on the 20th minute of every hour. It is just so frustrating.
SE please take a look at what is wrong. Thanks.

Oh no, Sony is definitely to blame for A LOT of problems that PS3 and PS4 players are having. How ever the PSN may not necessarily be the ONLY problem at work here.

The PC problem could simply be server strain as ARR has always had that problem. And new content + free weekends + 14 day trials doesn't do a lot to help server strain. How ever something is inherently wrong with the PSN and it's antagonizing the already large issue of server strain. Oh but good luck at getting Mr. Peggy at sony tech support to tell you any thing. I get better tech support service at the McDonald's drive through.

Couple this with all the other stuff going on over the web... all that video streaming taking place for things like Sports, Netflix style content, Twitch streaming, video chatting, social media spamming, DDoS (this happens all the time and all over the place, it doesn't just affect you when Sony gets attacked, since these botnets stress nodes all over the world when they are hammering a server), retail traffic, financial traffic... the list goes on and on. The internet is in a constant state of flux, and with the ailing infrastructure in North America it can be crippling at times for some regions--especially when there is a major storm like all that snow, ice, and wind that recently hit the northeast region. Which, just happens to be where about 2/3 or more of all US traffic to Montreal goes through.

Take a close look at that map I posted earlier... go to that downdetector site's companies list and load some other maps and you will see a pattern forming. There is a reason for that. I assure you, it isn't mere coincidence that areas like Southern California, Texas, Northern Midwest, the Carolinas/Georgia, and the North East corridors will show issues across multiple services at the same time. The network devices are failing in mass in these areas because the ISP's refuse to do their jobs properly.

I'm having no problem signing in to psn. It's when I try to online game I get really laggy or booted from the game. Final fantasy especially with the 2002 and 90002 errors constantly since almost a week now. It started when I got a new modem and I switched from a basic internet package to turbo. It was supposed to be way better but something had made it way worse...

    Thanks for the replies guys.

But while PSN might be unstable at times, I don't really have any other problems (downloading, online play) except ARR. I don't think it is just a coincidence that this only started to happen right after patch 2.5. Now I am just hoping for a server maintenance.

Neither do I have any major problems with other web services (sometimes the Rokus have a buffering fit, but it eventually clears up)... and I also don't have any issues with XIV either. But.. I'm strictly a PC player and I am likely taking a much different path than you are to get there. I have also spent time with my ISP identifying issues and pushing them to address them, so the route(s) I am now using are tons more stable than what I was using about a year ago. The difference is we held their feet to the fire until they got off their duffs and did something about it. And by they, I mean our ISP (TWC-SC) and not Square-Enix.

Think there are two different problems here. 1 some people have routing issues from their isp to SE servers that is causing problems. I also think SE is having general issues because there are many reports of people having connection issues recently that never did before.

TBH, the servers are overcrowded. 95% of the time when I log back in after a I D/C the world is full and I am put in queue. In addition, I use WTFast and my wife does not, we both DC and WTFast should resolve and trafficking issues this as it's optimized to send traffic more efficiently. It's not my router/modem. I've already investigated that possibility.

I think it's a combination of several things (Overpopulation, servers, isp, shitty programming). With that said, prior to about 2.4, the disconnect issue was far less frequent so somebody on SE's end did something. It happens all... the... time... Makes DPS duty queue very painful. Last night I wanted to get a dungeon done for my relic book. Duty status said 20 minutes. Ok... np... However, it IS a problem when I get disconnected 18 minutes into waiting... THREE TIMES... Nothing like waiting around for an hour for nothing. What is this, FFXI? lawl
