Type of Materia based on Gear Type

A/ Soul Binding any COMBAT gears for any of DOW/DOM gives you the following materia as the results: Crit,Det,Acc, Elemental, Vit,Dex,Mind,Str, and Pie, skill speed, spell speed.
B/ Soul Binding any CRAFTING gears for any DOH gives you: CP,Craftmanship,Control.
C/ Sould Binding any GATHERING gears for any DOL gives you: GP, Perception,Gathering.

DoW and DoM are separate. I've never gotten Str w/ DoM or Pie w/ DoW (for example). I prefer to SB with WHM and I get Crit, Det, Acc, Elemental, Vit, Mnd, Pie, and SpS with Felt left side and Tourmaline right side.

I heard u can't get:
CRIT & DET on Tank gear
Parry on gear that is not Tanks-only (or Vitality accessories I guess)
Accuracy on healer gear since they don't have any and don't need any to heal (100% chance to land a heal)
Mind / Intelligence on DoW gear
Strength & Dexterity on DoM gear

I'm prolly forgetting some, don't remember where I saw that too.

Unless they've changed it certain materia comes from certain gear slots. So head pieces drop int but legs don't. That is just an example and probably not accurate so don't go using it.

i think it's the whole systeme that need a revamp, the sb is nice and all but i feel it's a system that can be enhanced and something more friendly than what we have...
same the materia aren't that usefull into the game, exept the relic quest, craft/gathering and hardcore you don't really need them. that sad since it have a soo big potential. but well it's not the only system into the game that have a big potential that are left like this.

All DoW/DoM gear gives:

• Det/Crit/Acc
• Any Elemental
• Any Main Attributes on the gear, and VIT

DoW gear gives Skill Speed

DoM gear gives Spell Speed and Piety

Tank gear gives Parry
