Tetra Master > Triple Triad. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Who else out there shares my opinion?

I know, I know, they already did tetra master, but it was OUTSIDE of the game, this would be a wonderful opportunity for them to put it inside a game in a seamless manner.

Or better yet, make a true CCG inside the game, with more complex rules and cards that you could collect by farming bosses and monsters. That would be really awesome.

Who else thinks the same way?

I like it better the Triple Triad, but maybe that's just me being biased since I consider everything else besides the card game in FF 8 to be a smoldering pile of chocobo dung. It's hard to really like something when you have to sift through crap to get to it.

Maybe at some point they can add Tetra Master as well. They could even have the cards work for both games, with the card just having the proper system when you use them. More side games is usually good.

They probably opted for Triple Triad because of the random components of Tetra Master (ignoring playOnline), which makes Triple Triad the more competitive game.

I had fun with Tetra Master in FFIX, but if I'm playing against other people, I'd rather play Triple Triad.

Disliked the rng of card battles and "levelling up" in Tetra Master.
I think I might just be biased on Triple Triad though as it carried a lot of powerups for FF8's main game.

The problem with triple triad, as I see it, is that it has an ENORMOUS propensity to ties, unless a player does a killer play. It's like tic tac toe, 80% of games seems to end in a tie.

Also, they could have done another game, one with more of a traditional CCG flair. that'd be even better IMHO

Never liked Tetra Master. Was way too random for my taste. Triple Triad was the only aspect of FF8 I liked, and Tetra Master was one of the few parts of FF9 I didn't like.

I played both and although Tetra Master felt more fun, the random element to card battles was too much of a pain in the ass. The Triple Triad rules are clearer and help improve playability.

Sphere Break from FFX-2 was pretty cool, as mentioned earlier. FFXIII-2's Chronobind was nice too. Perhaps they will add multiple games like these in the future?

Honestly though.... FFX's Blitzball is my poison. I can sink 200+ hours into that "minigame" with ease (and have done so before). SE should create a version of it for PC/PS4 and make it online with leagues, tournaments, etc, as well as the regular NPC matchups you can have. I'd drop $50+ on that in a heartbeat.
