How about a new "Warrior of Light tattoo" type of thing for ARR? =)

I think it's awesome that 1.0 players got a sweet, totally-unique Chocobo, plus a totally unique tattoo for their characters. Obviously, I'm super envious, so take the suggestion with a grain of salt, but... How about something similar, to celebrate A Realm Reborn?

Just for a little something to say "We were here before Heavensward", without taking anything away from the 1.0 players, though. Nothing quite so elaborate as the Chocobo necessary, I just dig the idea of a new "Legacy Mark" type of thing.

I dunno; what do you guys think?

If there is an event to make it make sense, I don't see why not. In ARR the marked were sent to the void (or something like it), which could explain a mark appearing.

Wish the GC chocobo was the Legacy Chocobo and instead received a toggle for tattoo and the barding was made, really doesn't make sense my Legacy Chocobo is not my GC chocobo. (SE, please fix this most unimportant discrepancy lol).

Also just to add a bit of clarity, the chocobo is from the legacy program and the mark is just from the cataclysm (having the mark does not mean you have the chocobo).

I don't know how SE plans on opening this expansion. Other MMO's I've played have unique events that last for a week or two before the expansion launches and they come with their own rewards. I'd like a tattoo.

i wouldn't mind if all 2.0 players who started before lets say 2.3 got the Meteor symbol tattooed onto them, that way 1.0 has the mark of the god of time and the 2.0 players have a symbol that was used strongly during the 'rebirth' celebration.

Sadly I don't think we will get a event the same scale as 1.0 bridge to 2.0

However, it does look like that The Battle Ishgard will be that Event but the rewards for it remain unknown since The Battle of Ishgard is just a Main Scenario.

The FF14 Heavensward Trailer so far was just a CGI version of the Battle of Ishgard.

personally i think as a game ffxiv already has like way more exclusive content than many other games i've seen
and it isnt even old as most of them
and were still going to get a bunch more limited/exclusive content in the future what with every holiday event and whatever other reason they can think of to throw this stuff at us
im not really sure why people desire these "i was here before you" tokens/items/paraphenelia honestly the concept escapes me
if anyone with an understanding of this wants to tell me about it im willing to listen
but all in all im on the fence about these sorts of things

Aren't all (or almost all) holiday events item on the MogStation now? Not what I'd call exclusive.

I'm indifferent either way, but if the tattoo looks nice them I'm all for it.
