Personally, I have a deeper hatred of DPS not dodging easily avoidable AoE's during trial battles and then blaming the healers for not keeping them alive... when said healers are practically blowing through their MP and Aetherflows just trying to keep them alive.
But I agree. There should be a training program for proper Tanking. I don't mind speed runs, so long as the Tank in question can actually hold aggro. Proper training missions that teach them how to do that would be nice. Lord knows I've seen my fair share of Tanks that have no idea how to hold aggro and, in certain battles, move the enemies around to put them in a position where they DON'T have the advantage. *Remember's Brayflox NM run in which the Tank did nothing to move the final boss out of the poison puddles*
EDIT: My first post on this forum. o.O
Speed run tanks that irritate me are the ones who are not geared for it. They want to speed run dungeons that are not item level synced with such a low HP pool! I blow so much MP just to keep them up and then you have DPS that want to speed run and they are spirit-bonding so their DPS is pitiful, again blowing all my MP to get DPS up and healing the improperly geared tank!
I hate the people that force speed runs on people when they don't have the gear to do them efficiently. That is why I want the simulator to teach people how much they can take on with the gear they are using so that they are not inconveniencing other party members.
Guildhests are actually designed really poorly for training tanks. They often through too many mobs at you in the low level ones before you have proper hate generating skills and then throw too few at you in the higher level ones when you do have the proper skills.
In fact most Guildhests are just about teaching people how to not stand in the 'uh-oh'.
