SE Devs, please let us dye GC Grand Company gear

As the title states, I, like so many others I'm sure, just simply want the option to be able to dye GC gear. It's pretty ugly and it needs help. I can't see any reason why we can't change the color and it seems pretty silly to not have the option. It's little things, details, like that that let players LOVE a game instead of just liking it.

Do you mean the GC gear bought with GC Seals or Allied Seals? Allied Seal gear being dyeable I would somewhat understand, but not the GC Seals ones. You do understand the gear is linked to that specific Grand Company, and the color schemes are made to match it. I'd like to dye every single piece of armor in this game, but in this case it wouldn't make much sense.
Just my two cents I guess.

EDIT: As an example, dyeing your GC gear would be the same as dyeing the Royal British Guard outfit green and saying it's still the same thing. It's the official outfit of that specific organization, so you can't just go fiddle around with it all you want. If you get my meaning. And yes, this is a game, but the scenario is very similar.

Please dont let us Dye GC gear, this person is probably from some lesser GC like Adder or Flames, GC gear should be a representation of the GC your in with the matching color scheme, I know adder and flames people want to be like maelstrom but... come on.... only maelstrom is maelstrong!

I don't care about pvp or pvp rankings at all. I want to dye my GC gear that I spent thousands of allied seals on. Please SE, would be awesome.

I get what you're saying, but the GC just isn't THAT unique that you can even tell it's supposed to be some special GC uniform, so I"m not buying your arguement that the gear is "made to match" my GC, because no one can even tell that it is. I mean, my dragoon gear is just plain brown mitts, pants, and boots *yawn*. The chest piece isn't bad and at least offers some colors, but that's not what sets the "uniform" apart.

If they really want the gear to have the feel of some sort of GC uniform, they should really make it stand out more, they could even have a gigantic GC emblem on the front to distinguish it like is done in other MMOs with faction gear. My point is, that the gear is butt ugly, doesn't look like anything special or distinguishable to begin with, and could use the dye treatment. Your argument about the Royal British Guard outfit could be applied in this case only if the GC gear was so uniquely distinguishable, but it's so very very not, it's just banal brown junk that look like a lvl 1 LW made.

And Molic, don't worry - no one wants to make themselves look like FAILstrom =P ^_^

That gear still identifies some one with that GC so no it shouldn't be dyble.

But it DOESN'T though, that's my entire point. If I were to equip a set of plain level 1~10 gear made from LW, all without dyes, and equip my level 38~45 GC gear set and ask someone with only passing familiarity of what my GC's colors are (adders) to tell me which set is a GC set, I'd bet gil to goobbue poop that they couldn't tell the difference.

Again, there are plenty of ways that SE could make the gear stand out and distinguishable as a proper GC gear set and still let us dye the gear. Nurses all wear different colored scrubs, but at the end of the day you can still easily tell that they're medical professionals.

The name of the GC gear is identifiable enough, we should be able to dye it. They could have added a GC emblem or something if color is an issue, although I think most people don't care much for that sort of thing.

My dear, maybe you should specify the GC gear you are talking about. Right now you seem like you're talking about the random pieces here and there you can buy when leveling. You didn't mention anything like that in the original post. What I'm getting at, and I thought you were as well, is the lvl20 and lvl50 GC robe sets (Red, Black and Yellow) and the Hunt gear (which is GC gear in a sense, since each has their own sets).

Please specify as to what gear you want dyed. My example and clarification was perfectly valid on the lvl20 and lvl50 GC robe sets, but not on the rest. I don't have any qualms with you dying the random normal looking pieces you can buy between 20-50. Go ahead.

Clearly you haven't seen the GC Elite gear before.

As for the boring old GC 2nd Lieutenant uniforms, what they could do is release an unaffiliated uniform for dying that would have zero markings to any of the grand companies in the game.

Considering the GC rank is likely getting upped in Heavensward, I do hope they will grant more unique designs (like the GC Elite gear) later on to avert the whole "gear looks the same regardless of Grand Company" thing.
