There. Not abusable. Isolated. Fun.They need to permit us to FL/Wolve's Den just for fun against our friend's premades.
Perhaps only give us the "Request Duel" option in the Wolve's Den Pier.
This would be a solid way to implement dueling without much of the abuse.
Could be the same essentially to party leaders forming up a premade Alliance, restricted to inside the Pier.
Oh yes please please. Dueling in the open world is something I've been missing. And XIV really has fitting areas for this kind of thing.
I'm not a fan of PVP but 1 v 1 duels makes for great social entertainment and I had a lot of fun doing that in other MMOs with the groups of players sitting around specific areas just fighting and talking to each other. This is something I really can't see any negative in allowing.

+1 There are some cool places in the game world for this kind of thing. I see no harm in it. Although the suggestion to make it a premade wolves den thing was nice if that would be better.
I almost feel like if 1v1 duels were a thing, there would need to be even more rebalancing in terms of skills. Or something drastic, like a return of animation lock or something. Because XIV is the type of MMO where you just dump all your CDs on your enemy and pray he dies first.
XIV isn't an action game like TERA where you can dodge abilities and legitimately outplay people. I'm a PVP advocate, and I think XIV works fine in party PVP, but even I am skeptical that 1v1 would be worth anyone's trouble.

Yes please!!!
In Wow, my wife would often battle me and I often loss but she only did it when she was pissed off about something. And after beating me up ig it was often all better. So I support this.

From my experience with TERA and Wildstar, people often only want to duel someone they don't know only once they have examined them and know they grossly outgear them -- aka, someone with the highest tier PvP gear vs. a newbie PvP geared player or, the worst and ones that seem to get picked on by these types the most, a PvE geared player. Of course, this isn't true dueling since it isn't an even and fair pair up. Now, if SE implements a dueling system where gear is equalized, then I'd be all for it if they put in place a 'refuse all duel' option to click on. But, of course, if it is anything like most MMOs....good luck beating a healer before falling asleep (looking at you priests in TERA and medics in Wildstar..)
