too mad to search right now, anyone know if there's a dev tag for dc'ing?

it's fairly common to see people dc, but since release i have never once dc'd... until today, durring orge fight -> r0

If this is the first time you've every DCed, congratulations. You've done pretty dang well to avoid it until now. Most people have DCed lots of times.

Unfortunately, this is a game played over the intertubes, and as such, you're going to DC sometimes. It's not necessarily SE's fault. In fact, if this is the first time you've ever DCed, it probably isn't SE's fault at all.

Keep in mind, it's just a game. No need to burst any blood vessels. They're working to improve server issues, and it will probably get better over time. And in the meantime, keep in mind that it's just a game.

There over 100 people working on ffxiv more then it should be. The event was done by 10-15 people or less. Which there main role in the game is to make the event. So the people that are fixing issue are doing it so no need to rage because omg you d/c the first time take a chill pill and do it again.

About 90% of my DCs can be attributed to my internet connection dropping.

I can count the number of times SE have caused me to DC on one hand. And I've been playing since open beta.

You know what i have to say? it your ISP see i live in FL and i have AT&T and play FFXIV hours at end without 1 d/c issue the only time i had d/c issue was before the first SP fix they did around nov. Once that update went live i never d/c once and both me and my gf play on the same ISP.

Things you can do on an ADSL connection:

- Check your distance from your local telephone exchange. If you're more than 4km away, consider moving house if you care about internet and can't get an alternative method of delivery.
- Log into your modem and look up your dsl line properties. If the noise margins are under about 10dB (low noise margins = low tolerance for fluctuations in adsl signal), speak to your ISP about stability profiles for your connection. They can often make it so you are able to sacrifice a little bit of speed to boost those margins.

......sooooo you never DCed once, and when you finally do you rage? hehehe......

they fixed the crazy DC stuff a good while back, your DC was just a random thing that will happen in any MMO, and btw the "buggy patches" are fixing the game genius.

yeah, over reacted a bit =o)

it's definitely not my connection but yeah for 1 dc in the year or so since beta, i guess it was my turn. It wasn't so much that i dc'd as the timing... getting booted during a raid / boss fight and waiting to relog back in was more stressful that had i been mining or fishing

Wouldn't be so annoying if it didn't take 10-15 mins to log back in if your char is stuck in the game....
