Hey guys!

firstly may I state I know that this issue has been brushed upon too and I know it is far more complicated than just creating new modes. So I will make my post simple. I'll make comparison to other games and their popular PVP systems.

Currently in FFXIV it feels like PVP is just an additional system that remains touched by few and not witness by the many. I believe the reason for this is accessibility and variety. Which to some may be a boon but to the MMO market is the equivalent of keeping all your good eggs in one basket without taking any risks in pleasing a new player base - or attract players from other games to enjoy a pvp system.

1. Maps
The game needs more Maps and more PVP varieties. I understand it takes a lot of work to create balanced and fair maps for three parties compared to two but this has been done before in other games namely Guild wars with world verses world. Some game modes on -separate- maps that are a standard in other MMO games are..
- Capture the flag
- Resource control
- Slaughter (Present, but needs a smaller map with more LOS options)
- Base Destroy - Destroy the enemies encampment.

Alternative Leveling systems
In other games PVP is an alternate way of leveling any character from level 15 onwards. With rewards and gear that will help you do both PVE and PVP content and survive against your fellows every few levels much like grand company gear. This gear doesn't need to look any different from PVE gear, its just serving a purpose until the player can get to level cap.

Morale:
Morale, make it matter. There is currently no reason for the stat on gear for the more popular styles of PVP (being frontlines). Why are people bothering farming for the PVP gear other than for glamors when it means nothing in any pvp style? making Morale matter would mean players would need to think on strategy and not zerg to win.
