Coil aside, having a static for other content makes the game so much funner. No more rolling the dice on ex primals and hoping 7 other randoms can play the fight. That's not to say that statics are drama free, but the amount of time and effort that my statics have saved me trying to accomplish my in-game goals has exponentially outweighed the stress they've caused me.
So much this. I spend a lot of time with people in my static even outside of raid time. We are all in different FC's so the raid leader set up a linkshell for us and for good solid people that regularly sub for us. There's usually at least one person to run dungeons/trials with, farm light, etc. We'll get together as a static sometimes and do SCoB/EX primals, WoD/ST/CT for the weekly, and whatever else we feel like doing. A lot of us are avid crafters/gatherers so there's that as well. We kind of have a little crafting circle going, lol. ^^
