    Mail Box/Delivery System

I'm keenly aware that there are many pressing concerns in development, but I would like to point out something that I think would add great quality and ease to players, a mailbox or delivery box between players.

I looked for a mention of it in the forums and I couldn't find one. Its such a simple thing and would vastly change the dynamic of every type of player. Consider the anima, the chocobo-rides, the airship trips, and sheer runs across endless fields that would be minimized if would could simply go to the local post office of Gridania, and send a few mats or a weapon to a friend in Ul'dah.

Allow me to go a step further. What if you could even send something to your loyal and eagerly awaiting retainer? They needn't even step away from their booth they've reserved in Limsa, to teleport to you in Gridania, they simply get their deliveries almost as if, some might argue - like moogle magic!

If I could dare add as well: what if a post master of sorts were to linger about most major camps? There, you needn't drop those high quality raptor skins you sought for ages, or even consider tossing a delightful bikini ensemble you got recently. No, you need only send these dear objects to yourself to pick up at any nearby post office at a convenient a later date.

Should such a contrivance be too great an onus to place upon the nation states to maintain, perhaps there could even be a small fee levied to maintenance of such a system. What is a few nominal gil to assure that your collection of silver goblets, or your antique collectable goblin mask makes its way safely to your retainer?

    Just a few humble suggestions.

The original team clearly stated lack of AH and mail-system were decisions made, in large part, to combat RMT.

That's what they replied to the request for these systems way back in beta and repeated not long after release. All they've ever said was that they would think about a mail system after release, and I guess that meant the re-release sometime next year (maybe?).

They may have initially said they did it to combat RMT -- I never saw them saying that -- but they've said several times since that they're working to implement mailboxes, but they have to make modifications to the server so that mailboxes will be possible. The most recent time they said this was pretty recently in the Famitsu interview.

So it's coming, but it's going to be a while before they arrive.

The problem is that lack of a mail system does not hurt RMT nearly as much as it hurts non RMT players. It should have been in at launch or at least in one of the major patches, but we still have no mail system. They need to find other ways of combating RMT.

Features to report RMT spammers and suspected bots should be implemented to make things easier. I mean they expect players to to go to their website to report RMT and Gold farmers... really? You can't even tab out of this game in fullscreen mode without using software made by independent developers and they expect us to go to a website to report RMT.

There is alot of archaicness to this game, no mail system, separate client to adjust game settings, no IN-GAME reporting tools and other things as well. The previous dev team really screwed the pooch, Yoshi is doing what he can to get things fixed, but some of these things should have been addressed immediately after the new leadership took over.

I wouldn't even say Archaic. Alot of these features have been in games dating back to the 90's! The term you want is 'Feature Incomplete'.

Whats more is I don't buy this 'we took these steps to fight RMT'. They need to bite the bullet and try looking at what other companies are doing to cope with RMT, because frankly SE sucks at it. I rather liked Blizzards move to just sue the crap out of RMT and have their sites shut down.

What would really help is just making money less important in this game. If gil is only useful for things like buying NPC services... well they kind of lose their market. I'd see having mailboxes helping to encourage players to cooperate and help each other out instead of blindly throwing things onto a market to acquire money to buy gear they could otherwise work together to make.

Ever wonder what a game would be like if there was no money...?
