Exactly. This is why I brought up the issue when we are this close to getting into Ishgard. It is filled with nobles houses for gods' sake. Where else would vampires chose to live?
Okay, tinfoil hat edition. This will be long and might sounds utterly crazy, but I have figured out the story of 3.0 AND 4.0
Here goes nothing:
The first thing we have to remember is how Ascians work. Their thought process appears to be relatively simple. Random chaos=Zodiark returns. But, this is not so simple. They are always after specific goals and plan yearlong gambits to reach them. For example it is easy to see how they have been planning the finale of 2.0 ever since the very first Garlean invasion. Just look at the end result: Midgardsormr, the father of the huge primal they plan to throw on Eorzea, is pacified; the primals are summonable again; and Gaius lost favour so Nael van Darnus can take the stage with his crazy scheme to bring down Dalamud. Of course it certainly didn't hurt to have an angry Limsa sized dragon rampaging around Mor Dhona, the important thing was the ruin unearthed by the impact. Inside was Ultima Weapon a means for Gaius to solve the primal question. And Lahabrea and friends made sure that the primal question remains a relevant one. Before long the Garleans and the Ascians pulling their strings had access to a fully functional mechanical dragon. Inside that dragon is the actual end goal of Lahabrea: the ultima spell.
It is likely that a similarly specific thing is what they seek by instigating the dragonsong war. Or at the very least the recent renewal. Think about it. Much like how Palpatine played everyone for a chump during the clone wars, Lahabrea has the back of both Iceheart and the Archbishop. Of course his grip on the dragons is more loose, which is a problem because the dragons have what he seeks.
This is where the real random speculation begins. I was looking up information on Shinryu when I bumped into something curious. In Bravely Default the vampire castle that you must reach in order to get the vampire job crystal is sealed by six keystones, each held by one riddiculusly overpowered dragon. It made me wonder. Do we have six riddiculusly overpowered dragons in XIV? Well Midgardsormr had seven children and only Bahamut is confirmed dead. Ohhh. Well the numbers might not exactly match seeing that Midgardsormr and his kids predate mortal civilization but still an interesting idea. I cooked up the theory a few pages back that Ishgard is responsible for vampirism. Shiva was cursed by the Archbishop for laying with dragons, and she became a carrier of the vampire plague. The Dragons of course were nice people and wanted to help their ally. There was no cure and simply murdering them all was out of the question so instead they looked up Shiva and her vampires in a secret place and locked the door with magical stones. Each of the living wírmkings took one stone and all was well.
We know that a zombie plague destroyed Sil'dih. A vampire plague could potentially be even more destructive. Something like this would definitely interest Lahabrea. Only thing left it to kill the dragons. It is a simple matter to provoke the Dravanian horde into attacking, but Ishgard alone is not enough to win. And this is where the true trump card of the Ascians come into play. The Warrior of Light. They figured out that you may be a bit too powerful to kill. It is better if they count on you winning. But of course you are on the other side of the gate and don't really care about Ishgardians since they kept for themselves while Eorzea burned. Why would you help them? Well, because Lolorito, that's why. The warrior gets framed by puppet number one and gets rescued by puppet number two AKA Urianger. It is child's play to herd the WoL and the remaining Scions into Ishgard and watch as they win the war single handedly.
Okay, so Lahabrea has his vampires. What now? Well it would be nice to synthesize it, as an epidemic is hard to controll. This calls for an expert in magitek research. I'd imagine Nero would gladly jump at the opportunity to outdo Cid. Now all that remains is finding a place famed for its technology. Directly going into Garlemald is out of the question. That would be too reckless even for them. But there is another place that should have became acessible a long time ago. Ala Mhigo. Just imagine the three way battle between Nero's vampires, the occupying Garleans and the Ala Mhigan Resistance. It would be glorious. It wouldn't be impossible for the empire to forge a temporary alliance with Eorzea against the common enemy and perhaps paving the way for a gunblade using class.
What do you think?
I would love to see a vampire class implemented in the future.
but, as Derek Hale, I NEED to be a Werewolf è_è
Did you see my badge? I'm a professional!
A moogle race would be implemented faster than a vampire or werewolf race...
As long as they don't sparkle....

I was under the impression that that one miqo'te that shows up during the Halloween event is "probably" a vampire.
Well, you do have Lady Amandine (Haukke Manor).
is not impossible to do, they can use the idea of the vampire class from bravely default game. but, this class is only a different way to do the blue mage (actually i prefer the principe of the vampire at the blue mage make more sense)
however, i doubt it will happend soon... if it happend.
0.o I might have missed that one. Only NPC I remember from Halloween is the Ogre Pumpkinhead. Do you have any more info?
Yeah she comes up regulary in the discussion. You can see it if you look at the other pages. Oppinions are still divided wether she is a sadistic person, a succubus, or a vampire.

True, a vampire class would conflict with blue mage. Then again, there are various ways to include vampires. Killable enemies, NPCs, playable race, playable class, status.
New posters please read the previous pages. Ten pages is not that long compared to some of the other discussions. Thanks ^^
