    Error 601 - SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

    Alright. I know what you're thinking, "Oh another one of THESE threads." Yeah yeah. Get it out of your system.

    I've been paying my account for the last year with Pre-paid cards just fine and about last week I tried paying for my month. I punched in the card and I was like "Dododo...waiting for my Crystaaa~!" All happy that I was able to play the masterpiece Yoshi-P put together for only 15$ a month! Now. I go to do it today and I end up getting this nasty Error 601. What is the cause of this?

    I'm using a Vanilla Gift Card this time around, I checked the balance on it and the money is there. I even went and tried to use my PayPal. It confirms that it goes through but when I check my card it still has the same amount as last time. I don't understand why this is happening all of a sudden.

    This may well be an account issue you will need to take up more directly with SE through the options available via the Support Portal and not here, which is basically a user-to-user forum. About all we can tell you to do is likely what you have already done (verify name, address, dates, etc. all match up properly, money is there, the financial institution isn't blocking the transaction for some reason).

    Whatever you do though, do NOT keep trying with the same payment instrument. Each failed attempt locks it out for 24 hours or something weird like that--and each one stacks on top of a previous one. So you could wind up blocking a payment option for a week or so if you keep trying.
