can't start black mage quest line - legacy player

Hello,
I just started playing again. I had a legacy lvl 50 thm. I started playing arr and went through all the thm guild quests (lvl 30) and then did the archer quests and got my player to (lvl 15) with the quests complete at the archer guild. I cannot get the black mage questline to start. Not sure what to do or if it's come kind of bug since i was already lvl 50? Throw me some ideas, much appreciated!

You have to level Arcanist to lvl 15 as well.

No you dont need Arcanist do start the Blackmagequestline.
Arcanist has only good skills for blm.

Maybe you have the blm crystall already in your second inventory (this were youre armor is in) and dont see it?

No you don't, but you do have to do all THM quests up to and including the level 30 one and I don't remember if you need to have done the archer quest too.

also, i don't have any sould crystals in my armory chest.

Did you travel to the BLM quest giver in Eastern Thanalan? BLM quests don't come from the THM guild.

Not to be Cpt. Obvious but you did speak to Yayake in the Thm guild? The quest is called Taking the black. She is the one who offers it, if its not available then I think there is a bug.
