Midgardsormr Clarification? (Spoilers)

I believe the other one referenced is, in fact, Midgardsormr himself, as Lucia mentions that it could have been Midgardsormr. And as for that dragon lord we see in the Battle of Ishgard preview, I think that's just a Lord, not a Dragon King, aka, not Nidhogg.

You know, I just realised a fun random thing.

Hydaelyn = The doting and overprotective mother, that will spoil us and walk with us to our bullies to confront them lol
Midgardsormr = The strict grumpy father that lazily sits on his couch with a newspaper and tells his child to solve their own issues with their own hands lol.

From what I gathered from the events at the lake. The Echo and the Blessing of Light are two separate things. We haven't lost the power of the echo, we have only lost the blessing of light. It seems to be a test, instead of a punishment. In addition, I get the impression that something is wrong with the power from the blessing of light, like she gave too much of herself and in some way is weakened.
It could also be that in some way, Hydaelyn has been corrupted.
Given that we are also having a land that seems to mirror some events from FFIII, remember that in that story, neither crystal is evil. When one side becomes to powerful, warriors of the other alignment come together. What if us being warriors of light is a mistake and it's Hydaelyn over reaching? We already know that there is a dark crystal, though if it has been named I am not sure.

Yea, the Dark Crystal's Name is Zodiark aka The Ascian God. Hydalyn is The Light Crystal and the Goddess of the planet of the same name.

Who or What Zodiark and Hydalyn are is just as mysterious as and The Echo and The Ascians themselves. But it seems that the imbalance does not originate with Zodiark and Hydalyn. Rahmu said that at one time Light and Darkness were not two separate powers so it seems to me that the imbalence may lie in the 1st Umbral Era which was said to be "The End of the Divine Era and the beginning of The Age of Man".

Maybe the Ascians are really beings from the 1st Umbral Era that tried to stop the 1st calamity from shattering "The Balance" and died trying only to forsake mortal limits and try to bring said balance back. There were 14 thrones is The Crysalis. If they really do turn out to be from the divine era then that would make enough thrones for each of the Twelve (The Twelfth and Thirteenth seats would go to Nauld and Thal since they were two separate Gods.) and a Final Seat for The "TRUE" god of the mortal world.

So lets take a ride on the Darksteel Hat Crazy train for a bit. Louiseoux saw the 12 in Cartenou and they turned him into Phoenix. (Yea yea, spoilers, but who doesn't really know at this point?) The Ascians are immortal for the most part and don't lie within the material plain. Who's to say that the Ascians aren't some how related to the 12? Not that they are the 12 in a literal sense but that they've taken on the roles of the 12 to bring back Zodiark and restore balance. The only real question would be, Are they actually restoring balance or are they actually destroying it even more? Lets Say we the Warriors of Light are Hydalyn's Champions of Order while The Ascians are Zodiark's Soldiers of Chaos. Chaos and Order are two sides of the same coin and so long as one is pursed in place of the other than neither can be in balance.

We don't actually know who/what the dark crystal at the end of the 2.0 MSQ is. It could be Zodiark, it could be a dead/sleeping Hydalyn, it could be something completely different. Unless you can provide solid proof to what it is exactly...we don't know.

Also, the Twelve didn't make Lou a Primal...he pretty much did it himself. Tons of Aether (from his failed spell) + tons of prayer (from people all over Eorzea) = Primal...he just used the Aether and prayer to make himself the Primal instead of summoning another.

As for the theories...I'm sure there's more Darksteelfoil hats around someplace

Should have been a bit clearer on Louisoux. He CLAIMED to have seen the twelve. No secret lots of Aether floating around can make some crazy stuff happen, after all he was attempting to summon them right before Bahamut Wrecked the place, so maybe his vision was a byproduct of the summoning being interrupted and the Primal thing was part of a chain reaction of the Back fire. (Still need to get to final coil and see the legendary T11 and T12 CSs that SE refuses to allow on Youtube) So this only adds fuel to the theory that The Twelve and The Ascians COULD be one and the same.

As for the black crystal at the end of 2.0's story I wasn't actually referring to that one as much as the Giant Black Aetherite in The Crysalis. I think that may be more inline with Zodiark's sealed form where as the darkened planet crystal could be symbolic of Zodiark's dark energy over taking Hydalyn's light energy.

I, myself, was letting the doubts of that one get to me ... but I'm keeping an open mind again now that I've seen the artbook, which flat out says that the colors of Ascian Hall (The Chrysalis) and the vision of the dark crystal were made to match on purpose.

And not even on purpose; Louisoix says that right before the prayers and aether latched on to his desire to see the realm reborn, he was preparing to meet his end.

I had always though Hydaelyn and Zodiark are one and the same, two halves to the same whole. Both taking up either side of the balance of light and dark. Perhaps before they were two separate entities something occurred where they split causing the Umbral and Astral Eras. The Aether and power fluxing between them. When Hydaelyn becomes full strength the Astral Eras begin, and then she begins getting weaker where Zodiark springs from a slumber and takes control and the Umbral Eras start.

-The Ascians (Whom I assumed they were the opposite to the twelve, the dark balance side.) have worked to weaken and drain the Aether from Hydaelyn so that Zodiark can be revived. The dark crystal we saw may have infact been Hydaelyn in slumber as Zodiark is awakening, maybe why she cant speak with us anymore. We know the Ascian names are the scions of light from XII, each reflecting one of the Espers with their symbol inverted.

But I dont know xD Im no dev, this is just my current viewpoint.

I don't dig deep into the lore but I like the story so far in FF14

Since we beat that guy without the blessing we passed the first test. Also aren't the hard mode primals mandatory for story completion? We beat all primals without the the blessings of light. Well not without but i don't think Hydelen intervene against them. I believe the echo gives us the power of a god
