Well it's not quite as simple as giving you an option in the config, but I'm sure it's possible easily enough. Why dont you just use on screen magnifier for now and hover it over the chat box?

Cause I play on fullscreen due to not being able to see anything in windowed mode. I do however use a handheld magnifier when needed but with a font size of 16-18 on my 24" monitor I wouldn't have need for them.
We already have the option to change the font, why not the size too?

Without giving much details, this is easily doable on their end. Get to work SE.
not sure why this hasnt been done already, especially a game coming to a console...
Also is it so hard to make the chat log completely solid? even at 0% you can still see through it.
you can mess with your font settings using the FFXIV config tool that comes with the game....you can't really increase the size, but you can increase the thickness of the words and the font that is actually used. Just change it to a font that happens to be larger by default.
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
I tried that but it never worked out for me and thicker just makes some things harder to read just like for 6+ years in XI I could not tell the difference between "l" and "i" due to the silly font used.you can mess with your font settings using the FFXIV config tool that comes with the game....you can't really increase the size, but you can increase the thickness of the words and the font that is actually used. I'm gonna keep pushing this til it gets some love.

Heya fellow glasses wearers! Assuming of course
We let the dev. team know about your font size request for the chat and battle logs and they let us know that they will be making adjustments to address this in the future but it is a ways off before it will be implemented.

Why don't the devs just open the UI to user mods? If it's programmed in LUA, which most user interfaces in games are, then moderating which functions can be used and which cant is easy. Problems like font size should not be a developer issue... it's a waste of time when a user could just write 1 line of code and be done with it. =/Heya fellow glasses wearers! Assuming of course

Maybe this isn't the right thread but... this thread is just one of the many examples of why a moddable UI would be an excellent idea. Font size being a "ways off" is kinda silly.![]()
This is actually not true. Quite a number of games use in house GUI development styles, and of those that don't more tend to gravitate towards Flash using the Scaleform interface these days. Why don't the devs just open the UI to user mods?
