Too bad its not Minecraft

Since there has been nothing to do in this game other than craft and farm since release, they could have done wonders with it if they had taken a nod from Minecraft. I bet it would be one of the hottest games out there. The stupid world design could have been player corrected. We would have all felt free, and the game would be fresh with that type of sandboxy vibe. It would definitely make it a lot easier to overlook all the issues.

Does it present long term problems for the world? Probably. Just wishful thinking I guess. Being able to operate in FFXIV like you can in Minecraft would have made it awesome.

I guess you are not capable of stepping out of attitude mode and into thoughtful mode.

I am simply saying that with the widely acknowledged by both player and developer world design issues, it would have been pretty cool if we were able to function like a player in Minecraft, redesigning the world to be a much more interesting place, in the process leveling up crafts and DoL/H jobs. Since a large portion of players have spent most of their time crafting anyway, it makes perfect sense, and it would have made the game *so much more interesting* even with the myriad of issues it has.

Unrealistic given the developers are struggling to fix the game? Definitely.

Just wishful thinking of what could have been if magic were possible.

Practically nothing taken from it would work. Well...maybe a crafting table to set up the ingredients, but that would probably just add more time to an already time consuming activity.

If you want the world should be endless like minecraft well...there's a reason it's so blocky. And even then it's still prone to overloading crashes.

If you haven't played it before I could understand. I felt the same way before I played it, but my take was more like "Thats so MS DOS 3.1" or "That's so C64" =)

If you have played it and feel that way then eh it's just not for you.

If you haven't played it, give it a spin, its a great distraction and a lot of fun, and pretty soon the graphics become quite acceptable because they are overshadowed by fun (for me anyway)

That would be terrible in my opinion to give players that much freedom to shape the world. It works in minecraft because you can create your own world and are not stuck with the tacky "renovations" of others if you choose. I don't mind a little player customization and open world player created content, but it has to be controlled because I'm paying a monthly fee and am invested in a single character on a single server I don't want it ruined by others' complete and utter lack of taste.
