Is it really as simple as spamming savage>riot while keeping roh buff debuff up if needed?

Also. I assume appropriate times to be in sword oath are when I know I'm going to be dpsing for awhile and don't need to pick anything up/when I know I can take the adds while in sword oath?

Kind of trying to get down all the info I can as I'm not an extremely experience PLD (or tank in general) but for the sake of forming my own static, I will be tanking for it. (Starting on bcob)
So I want to be prepared as I can be.

Riot Blade doesn't combo after Savage Blade. It combos after Fast Blade. Your RoH combo is much better damage.

You're spot on with Sword Oath (generally speaking).

Definitely if you have a choice, have the WAR as the off tank, but sometimes mechanics dictate otherwise.

Yeah meant riot blade my mistake.

So I do RoH combo instead of riot blade when doing dps?


Also I realize warrior is the better offtank but this also applies to thing like LoTA/ST/WoD where tanks go periods of time without really doing any tanking.

Well it depends. In Sword Oath, using the RoH combo, and not being MT, you have potential of pulling threat. So you have to watch your output a bit to make sure you don't make things complicated. As MT in Sword Oath on single target, most duties, it's ok to do, usually after you have established your threat lead in Shield Oath.

If I am going to be in a situation where the group needs the OT to DPS moar, I will go WAR most of the time. It's more fun to me lol. There have been many discussions on the DPS output of both jobs while OTing. Can do a quick search and find some.

Riot Blade is only used for MP regen purpose when you need to Flash more. Using it as a dps source would simply drain you more of your TP quicker since you would be using 70>80 most of the time instead of 70>60x2. Because TP reg in battle is 60 every ~3 seconds, a simple way to say it is that you drain only 10 points every 3 hits with RoH, while Riot drains you 30 every 2 hits. You do the maths.

Pld dps:
*Sword oath on.
*spam 123 halone combo.
*use fof, scorn, spirits on cooldown
*use str or melded accessories.
*trade out parry for acc/det/crit.

Congrats you are now the perfect dps pld. It's really, really straightforward. 1 combo spam, 3 abilities on cooldown. Sword oath and dps gear.

Sword oath and a sTr set are the most important factors.

I keep 3 sets on my side bar.

Sometimes I further alter them but I swap sets between pulls as needed.
