Getting kicked randomly

Just got kicked out of ST right before the second boss for no reason.
I was a tank and was doing my job, didn't say much besides my hellos at the start.
Our group died to Scylla right before it died but that was it.

Not sure why I got kicked.

Other groups cannot kick you out, it was from your own group. That raid can be easily 1-tanked so your group wanted have one less member to compete with drops and you were the most sacrificable one.

You are missing out, sadly. Yes, there's some idiots (I mean really throw 24 people together, and even if it's only 1/20 people that are jerks, well, statistically speaking you're pretty likely to have one by that point). But the content is actually really enjoyable. Even if it's largely overgeared LotA is still one of my favourite places in the game.

Anyway hell if I know. The most likely answer, I guess, is indeed that it's a 7 man that was planning to greed a piece of loot and didn't want to run a risk of you doing so too, but hell if I know.

This is why my FC has WoD Wednesdays. We even try to clear weekly then. Mind you, even with a full alliance, the tanks might start a competition and play the I-have-hate-game XD

I generally just heal whoever needs healing and raise whoever needs raising (including people from other parties), and try to ignore all of the whining and moaning going on. If my party is talkative, I'll talk with them, if not I just silently do my thing.

Usually, the runs aren't bad, it's just that when they are people feel the need to post about it.. If they get a good run, they won't say anything.

I got kicked repeatedly from a ST run by some French/German people because I didn't bother to ress the NIN who went out of his way to walk into AoE.

I just kept rejoining over and over and they kept hurling abuse at me. Was hilarious.

Specially when the NIN himself needed the tome at the end and I didn't roll on it to teach them a lesson. He raged at me and left.

I don't even need the tome.

If you really think that it's an unfair Vote Kick, you can report it as Harassment via Support & Information > Contact Us (ingame). I don't think this is "pointless" as some people who abuse the Vote Kick system really should be taught a lesson.
