    Hunts were fine before 2.5. People did them for easy soldiery or seals for glamour/soldiery items/alexandrite/etc. They just weren't flooded with as many people because they weren't the BEST source of upgrade items in the game (only source outside of coil and it has no lockout). Hunts are just a bad place to be the best (and only outside of coil) source for these items. Hunts can't support the number of people that want to do them very well. This leads to the actual kill becoming extremely trivial (S ranks die faster than FATE bosses, wtf?!?!) and a lot of arguments.

    Get on what level?

    On my server, once awful LSes learned they could stack bodies on Tiamat to kill her instead of actually playing skillfully, they left alts camping the Chasm 24/7 to know when it spawned, thus preventing anyone else from ever fighting her on my server (they had 100s of members, so any time of day or night they'd call each other and go kill it asap, littering the zone with their corpses in the process). Truly, I am inspired by their skill.

    KA camping? What is "next level" about spamming Provoke or using a bot to quickly target and Provoke before it even has a chance to fully spawn? There's nothing "skillful" about this.

    There's nothing amazing about claiming anything. You make it sound like claiming a mob is equivalent to beating Final Coil or something. It's... not.

    Or tie it in with the leve system. Hunt board is a special Leve board. A ranks hunt leves can be claimed once per day with a max party size of 8. Rewards are seals, tomestones and a special token, collect 5 tokens and you can turn them in for an S rank hunt leve which is for 24 people.

    You can only get credit once per day for As but able to help out friends, and only 1 S rank per week. Buff rewards so that you can buy one Twine or coat per week, or just make the rewards from the S rank choice of a twine or coat.

    I wouldnt say that, FFXIV 1.xx had a claim system and we did not have that much harassment with HNM hunts!

    Even with patch 2.4 we did not have that much harassment, it always starts because SE giving hunts mats to upgrade into BiS gear (2.3 and now 2.5 again)... Raiders who do not need are equipping their other jobs and beaking the weekly loot rule... Those who can not finish coil are those who suffer the most from hunting harassment.

    I'd like make it extreme, and propose the hunt mobs being a 1-shot 1HP target. First who see, first who kills.

    To prevent camping, spawn is really random position in the full map, not only in well known places. And why not, also random time respawn. Go for it!

    This wasn't good in XI and it won't be good here. (there's a reason they eventually changed how that worked in XI)

    The only thing it'll be good for is creating even more drama and managing to piss off even more players.

    Well spoken my friend, our current claim system was implemented in 1.19 to prevent linkshells and free companies from monopolizing things like hunts. I will naturally object to any suggestions that encourage such behavior.
