The Red Wings

This isn't likely to happen but i think it would be cool if they even made a small nod to this.

I know the Dark Knight 'technically' first appeared with Leonhart in FF2 but its first true named appearance was with Cecil in FF4, Commander of the Red Wings. IT would be really cool if Ishgard had an airship fleet named this especially with us coming to the home city of the Dragoons. There could be a lot of nods to FF4 with this.

They might do that with the corrupted leader of Ishgard. Could we possibly see nods to Cecil, Kain and Rosa and the kingdom of Baron or to FF4 in general in the expansion?


EDIT: So now that i think of it. I will likely turn this into a thread that is in general just about References that we have, that we might see and what we would like to see as nods to other FF games. Not outright drop ins like the FF13 event, Im not including quest names or Fates in this list as of right now. Maybe at a later Date

I would love that too! One of my favorite FF's. Although my second favorite is FFVI and the empire is already nodded at in the Heavensward stuff. I do hope we see Kefka as a boss in whatever they have to replace Crystal Tower in 3.0

Actually, i know its not likely any reference but the final boss in AK HM made me think of Kefka a bit. But who knows, we may see FF14 take a spin on him as a general for the new Garlean King either once we advance into the Empire's Territory or when they return to Eorzia

I grew up playing FFIV, back when it was only known as FFII on the SNES. Simpler times... Would LOVE to see a bunch of FFIV nods in Ishgard, and would certainly not complain about more FFVI nods. :P I nearly died when I saw we could get Magitek armor mounts! VI was my favorite. @_@
