I'm not saying that we should baby people but these FC's on Zodiark claim to be helpful, claim they help new players and the do the exact opposite. If I hadn't messaged this person's FC leader he would probably still be stuck. After having a recent conversation he told me what happened and basically he had asked 10 times for help and everyone online (roughly 20 or so members) all ignored him. Its not about someone being a lemming or about not wanting to carry people its about making a commitment to helping new players who are stuck and then back tracking on the very thing you claim to do. Also even if you don't want to carry people its a bit silly to have that many FC members and not be able to spare 30-40mins running Haukke manor for someone.

I guess the main problem, is people's behaviour, the difference of levels. The "hight" levels wants and needs also different things and yes they resisted to help people as don't know because they have their own "same elevel and needs" friends in the free company. Devs thought to fix this and put atmas, alexandrites to veterans must play low level dungeons and so, they forced to help new players and them can surpass easily dungeons, but veterans only want their loot if party wipes two or three times, veteran's gone for another. It is sad but is the reality of mmorpgs, except a newier got a great and real life pro ingamer who will give a GREAT effort for his friend and an autentical forward to help altruitly him, the rest of new people must comply with little tips and strive. People behaviour normally is the egoism, maybe you're an exception Sammix87, great for you really. hopefull i finded someone as you when i started, only when i rise lv50 start meeting people and help me.

True indeed. I know that they do, I have my main class at 50 and am working on my own relic weapon at the moment but that doesn’t mean I can’t spare some time here and there to help if someone asks me. Free Companies don’t seem to have much of a point if people in those FC’s don’t at least have some interaction. Perhaps this is where I am different – to me this game is meant to be fun and you can only have as much fun with this game as you allow yourself too. For me playing solo and just doing “high lvl” content over and over would become tedious and boring and so I don’t mind running as healer in a low level dungeon to help someone out.

I’m sorry to say though that none of this is any kind of justification for FC’s doing this sort of thing. Having high member numbers doesn’t make you look very good if 90% of those people are now inactive because they got stuck at Garuda normal mode and no one in the FC would help them.

I think players attitudes seemed to differ a lot in this game especially when you have people like a previous poster who jumped to the conclusion that we were babying people. Letting someone lie there dead in a HM run while you zerg it down is completely different to helping someone stuck at a piece of content. While I appreciate that people won’t learn how to play this game unless they take some initiate we also cannot expect them to learn the mechanics if no one will teach it to them.

No one was 100% amazing at this game from the moment they started playing and I bet majority of people here received help in one shape or form from another player who was kind enough to teach you. As the old saying goes: give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

I get your problem I see that often a party finder on our server for low level stuff or for Cape Westwind. Usually if I'm not busy I join those and motivate FC members/static to join as well. why not spare 20 mins of our time for someone random. I don't care to recruit them, some ask for a linkshell or FC tip after some just stick to what they have.
But for our server it is not only the "WE MUST MAX OUR MEMBERS WITH RANDOM INVITES" FCs also a growing number of really small 3-10 man FCs that try to start up and sell at R7
Our mindset for FC is we help you, you help others and that works well also for the FC Static members started up. Random invites are a nono and if people always should start own Fcs... I highly doubt that makes sense. But helping is a must if the person if well known or not if you can stand him/her or not just try to at all be it crafts or running dungeons :/
