    Speed Run in dungeon..

Do people always doing this even there is first timer inside there?
Last night when I'm doing Roulette Dungeon, this tank so impatience... too rushing.
Healer in our team is new player, I can tell because he's not skip any cutscene.
Even his performance is bad but still consider OK, we all alive.

What come to worst is they do skip some mob with chest, I totally feel bad for that healer. I cant tell TANK to go there, because I can't speak Japanese.
That Healer in different realm, I wish that I could invite him again for more proper run with my friends.

So I'm decided to roll a Tank, in that way I can control the situation.

Yes sadly people feel like a "need" to speedrun everything.
I usually check reactions on first pull (do a single group) and if the rest of the groups rushes by I know they expect a speedrun. Tho id never rush if people dont want to. Even in bray HM I ask "Slow or common speedrun?"
There are large threads about speedrunning in here because on one hand people complain they cant watch CS and co (not reading the texts in Tamtara HM ;_; ) and on the other hand you get bitched at for NOT speedrunning.
Especially in the 2 8 man story dungeons that is an issue. Even if both tanks healers and 3 dps are willing to wait there is that 1 dick that pulls and sorry not all healers are open to just let that idiot die and quit :/

As a Healer, I'll always let someone watch the cutscenes on CM and Praetorium. The problem now, however, is that because of higher iLevel, and no sync on either of those dungeons, CM can be solo healed, and most of Praetorium as well. So if the other Healer wants to speedrun, my sitting on the ground does nothing. T_T

I'm new to the game and the first runs of the low-level dungeons I went through were great! Chatty, helpful and nobody seemed to be there for a speedrun at all. Not found that since I've started doing the roulette though, total opposite, might as well be playing with bots. Not sure what changed..!

Yeah it was already solohealable on i60 and that is what I say always 1 tries to rush... its rare that you hit a full patient team (did FC prae cm yesterday 5 man premade and only 1 random dps quit halfways thru prae I was impressed)

People do the dungeon only for tomes... no time to waste that is what changed... sadly

Most of the lv 50 over geared tank's tend to rush the dungeons as they usually are running around 10 dungeons per day I usually rush the dungeon if no one asks for a full run I do get the chests which has gear in it but if I know the chest only has potions as drop I tend to ignore them as for mob's if I see that every player is level sync'd to the dungeon I tend to take shortcuts bypassing mob's but if I see a new player that has just unlocked the dungeon and is looking cutscenes I try to grab as many mobs as I can without making the run too long

What changed was the message.. on anyone's first run-through, a message is displayed letting the other members know that someone has yet to clear the dungeon. For roulette, it probably didn't appear at all, so everyone automatically assumes you've done the dungeon a million times (not true, of course, but still...).

I tend to just glance at my party's search info, to see where they may be. A lot of people have alt characters too (for...reasons? idk i dont see the reason but whatever) so they'll know how to do the dungeon even if it states they're new. I usually ask if they've done it before; if so then no explanation, if not then I tell them what to expect.

I'm sorry for your bad experience OP.
Speed Runs aren't the "norm" by far, but a fair number of people do them. However, what some people don't seem to understand that SR's require the entire party to be on the same page.

As a tank, I always try and asses my party. I first check the HP of everyone and if I see someone has low HP, I will examine him/her. I always ask my group how they want me to pull. If they don't answer, my default is a small/pull. If there is a newbie to the group and they I feel that they can't keep up with an SR (due to lack of exp or gear), I go to my default solution.
If there are two melees in my party, sorry but SR's won't happen- unless the party specifically asks for it.

    I do my best to communicate with the party. By and large people respond but then you get those people who refuse to type ... and you can never tell if it's because they're just that lazy or because of a language barrier = =;;

That being said, I'm glad you've decided to try tanking. ^_^ Yay! Thank you for being part of the solution! -feeds cookies-

sadly its not just dungeons, a great many people have the first two raids of Crystal Tower on farm mode. 7 or 8 of the 24 people I had last night in a labyrinth run last night were so into the speeding of it, 2 healer at 1-4 dps every lockout except last boss and on one pull a tank was locked out as well. It isn't necessarily the tanks each time either, summoners' will use titan to pull early, ninja will oops in hide, healer will toss out a dot if the other trash is close enough, etc.

Also, auto translate can make a great deal come across to other language players. during new content I say "(hello) (first) (timers)" as its one way to say new to content. I think you can translate "(chest/coffer) (please assist)", to ask for full runs or "(experience points) (think is there) (can I have it?)" its possible to write novels with the auto translate, just sometimes have to get creative on how you say it

Impatient speedrunners stink, but the autotranslator is great!

My experience is that this is extremely common, and that impatient speedrunners will frequently go beyond simply skipping rooms with coffers into actively abusing new players by trying to bully them into skipping cutscenes, then rushing ahead and eventually locking them out of the boss battles. Without ilevel sync or some other mechanism to prevent it, overgeared players are able to lock the healers (and anyone else) out of boss arenas without dying. This isn't nice, but people do it anyway.

Echoing what Asheilin said, the autotranslator is a great feature for communicating with people who speak another language!! I wish I got the chance to use it more often because it isn't needed as much on the NA servers, but it's a wonderful thing for a game to bring people together from all over the world.
