Solution: Go play FFXI. K Thx bi.
Why go play XI? They just released XI-2 this past September, or didn't you notice? Maybe the game title is throwing you off?
I wouldn't be very upset about that either probably. But, if they were going to do that, then lvl 50+ jobs should be restricted to the original design of XI: Job w/ sub *job. One job, one role, with 2 sets of traits/abilities at their disposal. A "SAM" with Cure IV, Chi Blast, Fire IV, Trunk Splitter, and so on, is the stupidest idea I've ever heard of -even if the spells/abs don't work well on the "wrong" job. Players shouldn't be allowed to equip the abilities/traits of each and every job/class they have leveled -it's retarded. And, regardless of what changes are made, this endless stream of tp, cure, enfeeb, and buff spam needs to stop. Slow the damn battle down...let us enjoy our kills. The way I understood it was that the new jobs are simply more focused play styles of the original classes. Monk being a specialty that you can earn as a pugilist rather than being a completely new job to level from 1-50(for example). That's how it came off to me in the battle reform blueprint anyway:
If that's the case then that takes care of some of your concerns up there. It doesn't seem as complicated & redundant when I look at it that way.

Same race so ffxi players could get use to FFXIV same layout of city once again for ffxi players to get use to it. Here where FFXIV stop being FFXI 2.0 class system and the overall way of playing is casual vs ffxi back before the dumbass 85+cap.Why go play XI? I hope ffxiv don't stay 100% casual forever.

Cose FFXIV is NOT FFXI-2. They want money from FFXI and from FFXIV.
So this games want be the same. If you want Job/Subjob like in FFXI go play FFXI.
Have you missed where even the loyalist of FFXIV players said they'd quit if they charged for this game? They want money from XIV and XI is making money even 10ish years later, so something is still going right with XI -- It also has a fairly large population for being this old. XIV is about a year old without it's first expansion and undergoing an overhaul, People who want to play FFXI will play it, however there's no excuse to throw away even the basics of your PREVIOUS MMORPG instead of just making it better...even with "class customization" it's still lesser than what XI has to offer class wise -- This is the problem and why people are offering ideas about how XI did it because after making and maintaining a successful MMORPG for 10 years (including one based on the Front Mission series) XIV should not have been in the shape it was in.
You really give me the impression you as the rest of your anti XI disciples just read the title of this thread and rushed to post the common anti XI slogan "Go play XI".
I mean how about you address the concerns and stay on topic? Have you read the posts?
I for one was looking forward to a new battle system with XIV and excited about it.
It's only after the cracks of the Armoury/Class system surfacing and seeing all the different issues with it that i feel the need to raise the issue. I have played the most of the FF series, and not a single one of them i had an issue with nor failed in anyway as XIV did. There's obviously issues with it that SE realizes and are trying to address patch by patch.
So really, it's time to stop making XIV some sort of Eutopia, take off those XIV rose tainted spectacles and give constructive feedback for the future of this game. I consider myself a loyal fan to SE, but people really need to get out of this white knight mentality where you're willing for SE to dump on your cupcake and gladly call it icing.
I think there is certainly good in FFXIV and definite potential, otherwise i wouldn't be still here. However, there is alot of bad and it needs to be addressed, heck, even SE welcomes our bad feedback.
And for the love of all that is holy, stop trolling with the "Go play XI" slogan, XI is already being copied to a good extent for the benefit and success of this game.
We will, where will your population for XIV be?
Solution: Take what works, make it better. Profit.
Original FFXIV Solution: Take what works, throw it out, release the game unfinished, spend 2 years overhauling it, hope for the best with the PS3 launch.
You do realize they were hoping people moved to XIV right? They explicitly stated they didn't upgrade XI's engine and chose to go the route of a new MMO instead.
@OP:
It is indeed true, the current path they'll have to continually balance and tweak Class system and job system which means making this game as easy as possible because you can't have both styles of play (Solo/Group oriented) existing with perfect balance or you have to force one side to deal with the other, i.e people absolutely love leveling to cap through generic monotonous questing which means overworld grinding tends to be looked down on and so on.
While XIV reintroduced party grinding (which is fun btw) having to balance two styles of class progression just...won't end well.
