Can we please get an option to mute all of the SFX in FFXIV?
The wind gets really annoying while trying to listen to music. (no, not the BGM music..)

I agree completly but why not just turn your speakers/ headphones off?
They supposed are including that in 1.19.
This is planned for 1.19.

Well I'd like to assume this includes being able to mute the BGM on top of the 'all SFX off' option.
All they need to do is add the wind to the current SFX mute option. Problem solved.
I found it hilarious in the letter when it said "even more sound options for you!". It seemed kind of sarcastic, like they can't appreciate the fact sometimes people want to mute the entire game.
I don't see it as sarcasm. Just a "hey, we're giving more options! please be happy." lol
Well, since it wasn't a straight out "here, you can now mute the wind" - Hence a total muted game option.
Instead we'll soon have an option to mute all of the game except the back ground music?
Devs? - Is this a hard concept to grasp or something?
Changing the "weather" SFX to the general "SFX" option in the config would circumvent a need for this uneeded option. Its so simple but they haven't got the point. People need a full mute option. I thought yoishi would have found this simple and obvious.
I just found their comment in the letter rather convoluted and random.

There are 3 types of sound muting options in the game. Adding a 4th that mutes all but the BMG seems retarded when the issue is solved by adding the weather sounds to the SFX option in the current UI. they don't need to give us more options. its sound FFS.
How convoluted do they need to make it??
Of course this isn't an excuse for the game to have poor sound options, but if you're using Windows Vista/7 you can mute individual programs in the sound mixer.![]()
