    In-Game Parser.

Alright I know this has been said a lot but I think it needs more attention.

As we grow closer and closer to the games first expansion, I think introducing an ingame parser that is standard for all platforms with the launch of Heavensward is the perfect time for it.

Let's face it. At this point, the only thing not having this in-game is doing, is hurting the playerbase.
It makes a lot of people spread misinformation because they think something that isn't true because they couldn't actually see any info on:
-How much they healed during the fight
-How much damage they did during the fight.
-Average damage per second during the fight.

For a game that has a DPS check in majority of its encounters, this is a silly thing to not have.

Even more so when the game is on 3 separate platforms. So with this you get only some PC players who are able to see this information, and then a huge chunk of the rest of the games playerbase who has no access to any of that information.

Now I want to say, why would the expansion be the best time to implement this?
Because with this, players will get to see their power levels rise as they level 50-60, and then 60 onwards while gearing up.

Sure, now we see bigger numbers with better gear, or we can feel that increase in our GCD with more spell/skill speed.
But with an ingame parser, we will be able to see, "Hey at level 52 I was doing xxx damage. Now that I'm level 60 I'm doing xxx damage."
We still obviously see our actual attacks hit higher, but with a parser we get to see a more accurate representation of your damage output on any given fight.

Just because your attacks may hit for 1.9k doesn't mean you're doing good damage on the fight and this is what leads to players thinking they're doing the rotation well but they aren't.

The game would only benefit from this. Let's make it happen.

Yoshi P himself said this would never be in the game as it would seem like SE is justifying chastising someone based on numbers. I'm all for parsers in game, but when the man says it'll never happen, it's never going to happen. He didn't even leave it open ended for a future possibility.

Good, glad to hear it. Parsers in game are nothing but trouble.....

That information was only half true. They said it wouldn't be out of the question to make it possible to see your own DPS on a striking dummy. I think it's more likely than not, that they do that. It's the natural progression of this game, and others, to make it as simple as possible to teach players how to play effectively.

Each role has difficulties to overcome, and while it has some of the least responsibility, DPS is the only one with such a lack of resources for becoming better, or monitoring activity/efficiency. It's okay to want to keep your players safe from criticisms, but people will be people, so it's inevitable that harassment will happen. The lesser of two evils, would be helping the players who do want it, so that you're at least helping one crowd instead of allowing both scenarios to plague the playerbase.

Which is bull**** of the worst sort. First thing they implemented with PF was the ability to restrict by ilvl, which is even worse discrimination.

Dev team also said they would never let you repair gear when not on a crafter job. Dev team also said they would never let you repair gear when not as the crafter job used to repair that gear. Well... We can now do both of those things.

I don't think people should be shamed for not doing the absolute best dps, but when you have a MNK in Shiva EX who is doing 100~ dps, you have a serious problem. Maybe other people are happy to carry, but I don't think people should win stuff when they aren't contributing. Well, assuming you're even able to carry that hard. Wouldn't it be easier to drop the guy who is doing less dps than a healer? Or you really want to do a full abandon every single time you get a bad dps? (More than likely you will get multiple bad dps, though.)

Nothing is final. He can just do something which he said they'll not do before.

    Unlikely? Yes.
    Never? No.

And hopefully it'll stay VERY unlikely. We already have parsers we can use. For those on consoles, they have friends who use PCs that can parse them if they so choose.

MY concern is people wanting the devs to steer away from developing useful content that is for the game itself to develop something that we already have access to via other means. I'd rather the Devs keep making other new content for us and just let us use the tools we already have access to. It's already been proven time and again in this thread that EVERYONE already has access to parsing. People choose what platform they want to game on - if you choose to use a console and not a PC, then you choose to have your parsing done by the many PC friends you have in your FC that have PCs. Unless, of course, you are in that FC I keep seeing running around that only invites PS4 players. Talk about limiting yourselves there

I guess what im trying to get at is two things:#1 Was this game made with Parsing in mind, especially from a third party program? And #2, Can this game be enjoyed, completed without this program. See the way i see it its like saying "hey, developers should take a program that's essentially a cheat and add it to their game so we can play their game better." What?!

If all of a sudden, SE made it so you cant gather that so called "needed" data to play the game, how many of you asking for it are gonna quit, stop playing or cry that its too hard? I agree that its really not needed. If it was, it would be in the game for all players, not just for a bunch of pc users who are elitist. Im sorry, this game is not a job. its a game. If i want to maximize my output, i will practice using what i have in the game. But as it is now, its better left alone. It forces players to get used to playing with each other and learning with each other instead of looking at some data and saying "Hey, you are not hitting your numbers." You guys make it sound like its a job. Its supposed to be fun.
