You keep saying it's so easy to go get a parser.

    Yeah. For PC players.

What about me? I'm on ps4. What about the tons of other ps4 players, and ps3 players?

    "Just get someone on PC"
Not that easy. I'm on Jenova. Ps4 players are the majority here, not the minority.

I promise you ps4 could handle a parser so that isn't the issue. Ps3 could too believe it or not, I bet.
So why can't we have a parser?

So, for the PS4, I seriously doubt there would be any problem with any part of a parser, however they implemented it.

For the PS3, the most significant hang-up is probably actually displaying the parser onscreen in real time. Any kind of calculation could be done server side, so there wouldn't be any significant increase in computational strain (which would be minimal anyways). But, in displaying elements onscreen, the PS3 is at its limit as can be seen with how they managed to get focus target to work way back. However, I'm quite sure they could get something to work out, even if it meant taking the ax to another UI element so long as it was displayed.

Of course there are other ways to do this too. Instead of adding a UI element they could, as others have mentioned, improve the log significantly. Instead of having a real time onscreen parser, they could add a new menu with stats from the past battle, or with all the stats that are currently in the battle log.
