You're looking at it in the wrong way, though. You're making a blanket statement about all players that want parsers, saying that it only breeds negativity and elitist attitudes. The same thing could be said the other way around- that all players who don't want it are okay with mediocrity, and don't care about understanding the job they play at any length.

Neither is true. Not every player wants to abuse a parser, not every player who dislikes them is bad at the game, or lacks interest in what they do. It's unfair to make that statement no matter which side of the argument you're on. What's most important to realize, is that this is a very team/party based game right now, and one player can (and will) be liable for entire wipes or missing of checks. Forcing your ideals of fun, and conversely, forcing your ideas of effectiveness on a player isn't okay. If you just want to have fun, the party-finder has options for that, for a reason. But in the same right, there is serious content, and disregarding players who want to take the game seriously is selfish. Nobody's trying to take your fun away from you. Not having a parser only caters to your ego/lack thereof. It doesn't benefit anything but a preference. Having a parser actually HELPS the players who want it, provided it's only on striking dummies.
