Hopefully this nightmare is NEVER going to happen! >_>
I can already imagine people saying "LF> a any DPS for Odin! Must do 10k damage per minute"
or "You do 100pts lower dmg than the other dps! You suck! Learn how to play! /vote-kicks"

I'll help the other person in /t when you convince Yoshi that allowing tells in dungeons is a good thing. Deal? But when someone then takes that information and broadcast it to 7 other people in front of them and calls them out on poor performance THERE is your problem. That is what I am shooting at here and I'm guessing SE is too. It becomes a tool for harassment instead of helping.
So only PC players get to use that info to self improve.Plain and simple, some of us that use PCs can use Parsers to self improve, educate ourselves about where we stand and go from there. That's all we need.
I am against in-game parsers being available because, as Yoshi stated, it would promote people going ego-trip-happy over other people based on numbers alone. "Hey, we just kicked that boss in the balls!" "Yeah but you were .0000005% below everyone else in the group so you sucked". People actually do that, so, I agree with yoshi. Never EVER allow a parser to be part of the game itself. Plenty of us have access to our own parsing software to improve where we can without having it shoved in ours or anyone else's faces the results.
That's basically letting PC players cheat while ps3/4 players sit around and guess their Dps
I'm sorry but this game is on 3 platforms and all on the same servers. It shouldnt work like that.
How is this a bad thing? Those parties have a better chance of success if dps aren't bad.
There are plenty of ways to tell.
Though inaccurate for some purposes, the enmity bar can be a hint to how well a DPS class is doing -- especially if there is a gross discrepancy.
Judging from how a fight proceeds is another hint to how good or bad DPS is. (e.g. Number of Bennus; mountain buster stacks; 1st set of meteors in T9...etc.)
Closely observing if DoTs/buffs/debuffs are clipped prematurely (or if they're even being used at all) is also a way to help determine whether or not a person is playing their job correctly.
Making friends with people who do parse and asking them for data is also an option.

it already happening PC player are using it that why SE should let PS4 and ps3 use it too
I mentioned PC players because i am one. I have never ever owned a console, so i have NO clue whatsoever what your systems are capable of. I specifically said PC player in my case because i know my system and what we as system users can do. Consoles are succeeding by leaps and bounds! It wouldn't surprise me if real soon there are ways to use parsers on systems that cannot yet do so. Technology is growing so fast it's hard to keep up with.
Besides, you don;t HAVE to have a PC to benefit from this system. just today, two FC members asked me "Hey do you still use a parser?" Since I did, they invited me to a party and we went to the FC practice dummy and they had me parse them. So, while our physical systems may be different right now, there is NOTHING - and I mean absolutely NOTHING in this world that beats teamwork, friendship, and working together. I helped them with numbers, and they went on their way to do with those numbers what they saw fit to do in order to improve themselves. THAT is something i have not yet seen in this thread - the talk of people working together to overcome this instead of individualizing it based on individual hardware limitations. And if anyone on Phoenix ever wants me to parse them, I'll be very happy to do so. Even better - as a respectful peer and friend, I never use information to talk about you behind your back. I let each individual learn from their own experience. Parsers should never be used to belittle or make anyone feel less wanted. If we do use a parser, it should be a learning tool only and used responsibly. This is the reason Yoshi said no to an in-game parser - because too many people would NOT use it responsibly.
The EULA is even worded in a way so that it makes Parsers seem against the rules, and this opens up the ability for SE to strike anyone down and even ban them for using parser information to flame or harass another player. I strongly support that rule as well, because this is just a game, and we as players shouldn't fear the interpretation of numbers by elitists.
P.S. - yes i suck at spelling and probably missed some corrections before I submitted this. Sorry.
http://faelandaea.com/technology/ - My computer specs - LOW END MACHINE!!! High end machine coming soon.
Majority of encounters does not have any significant DPS checks and the only ones that do require dps checks are raids where people widely use 3rd party parsers anyway.
Now we have a status quo when people do use parsers for their own improvement, but they are not allowed to point out others numbers as it is bannable offense.
Harassment is not equal to discrimination. People can discriminate as much as they want in PF - put ilvl/clearance requirements, ignore melee players, kick out unwanted persons, even kick people for low dps based on parsers numbers as long as the real reason is not stated. But you cannot verbally abuse people for their low performance and you can't kick inexperienced people from DF group because their numbers are a bit on a low side, that will be a big case if everyone can see others numbers.
Now only dedicated people use parsers and they usually keep their mouth shut about numbers shown (they still can give a commendations and like), because otherwise there will be troubles. And those who can't keep silence will be eventually reported and banned. On another note, I never entirely understood the harassment claim on parsers being available to everyone. If that already exists at current, with those who have access to it harassing others (not everyone uses parsers for this purpose), why would giving everyone parsers hurt?
If you give parsers to everyone - they'll have no obligations to not use these numbers in offensive ways.
I'd like to throw something out there I havent seen mentioned for the people saying harassment is an issue with parsers.
Tanks get harassed when they screw up or are doing bad.
Healers get harassed when they screw up or do bad.
Dps...harass the tank and healer for screwing up while they quietly get outdpsed by the healer and tank.
So parsers used for harassment is an issue?...how come dps are free to not be called out on not performing their job well enough?
(Genuine) harassment towards any class can be reported. It's not just DPS harassment.I'd like to throw something out there I havent seen mentioned for the people saying harassment is an issue with parsers.
