Something that I think is important, always just Heal your first time through a dungeon, or when your trying new playstyles. It gives you time to look at windup animations and see how long it takes before the hit registers and look at names of moves with focus target on. People say just healing is boring, I say it gives you a lot of time to learn important details. It will let you stance Dance as its called and you will know at a certain point when a boss or enemy uses a move you should be casting a cure because at that moment the targets HP won't move which lets you do SO much more having that knowledge. and a tip I found very important, in the in-between dungeons where Shroud of Saints doesn't do much, use cure one repeatedly, it slowly chips away qt your mp and use cure ii with those freecures otherwise they blow big chunks of your mp.

As "boring" as some people say healing is. I find that healers actually have the most things to do when doing content.

Not everything is rainbows and unicorns, and there's a fine difference between those who forsee incoming damage, and those who heal after the damage. The biggest things for healers is to always be aware of the situation. This applies the most to us healers, less so for tanks, and even less for DPS. This isn't to say that situational awareness can be completely ignored, but the more you have the better.

My advice is simple: Be aware of your surroundings, including your party, as much as you can. This includes, and is not limited to:
    • Incoming AoE
    • Incoming Big Hits
    • Monsters that Patrol
    • Debuffs
    • Buffs
    • Your party's likelyhood of ignoring a mechanic and getting hit.
    • Chance of someone non-tank pulling aggro.
    • Tank's willingness of popping defensive cooldowns.
    • etc...etc...

You'll find that you'll have a much easier time supporting a group if you know what their habits are. Yes this applies to DF parties as well.

I say simple, but in practice it's much harder when it comes to the more difficult dungeons. Even more so if you're learning.

Two days in a row now, I've gotten into AV on healer in progress (before first boss) with a DPS missing. It confuses me.. personally, I've had more trouble with groups struggling through Brayflox or Cutter's Cry. It's not that bad that I'd want to instantly ragequit..

Thank you everyone. This has helped me alot. It's funny though, took me four attempts to complete SV but completed DD on first go. Going to give Cutter's Cry a go!

Here's my advice when you go into parties, bring food (supporting your highest stat, whether it be Spell Speed or Piety), bring meds (mind pots and ether), and set Cleric Stance on key you can quickly turn on and off. The NQ stuff you get on your trip to 50 will suffice. If not, ask your FC to make you some.

Have tanks on focus target unless your fighting a boss. The set the boss on focus target, so you can react to what the boss does. I. E. if the boss casts "attack the whole party spell", start casting Medica so it will go off right when the boss is gone casting. On that note, consider leveling THM a bit to get Surecast (you will need Swiftcast after you get 50). Also make sure to use Virus on powerful monsters with dangerous attacks (WHM's Virus only works on physicals).

Do not attempt Garuda without getting WHM to 45. This will allows you to wear 4/5 of your AF and get you access to your 45 job ability(that goes for every job).

In cutter's cry after 1st boss u can just race to the 2nd boss ^^
Just tap the portal and sprint on and on, lots of fun lol
After 2nd boss u can just run all the way to boss and revive tank that pulled everything( sac and pull) thus skipping all the mobs.
Hence y se made newer dungeons have lots of barriers.

And yes dps when you want, i'm pretty sure tht most ppl u run into won't question u about dpsing as ur healer isn't running around in i100+ gear with a i110-i135 wep. They'll just be like any dps from healer is like the cherry on top.
