Seriously Casino spammers are almost as bad as RMT bots i can't go anywhere anymore without people trying to horde gil by gambling and sending spam in shout. We are getting GS soon which some people decided will be a Casino for gambling so they made their own? I don't get it. I'm pretty sure it's against all sorts of ToS rules and the spam is annoying. I wish the /random thing was never introduced because it seems to serve no purpose except trying to scam the server out of gil and annoy people like an RMT spammer. Also wouldn't be surprised if some of the people doing this are RMT sellers hording gil to sell. Rumors seem to say as much.

While I also consider casino shouts an annoyance, people will label anyone making money as RMT.

I only see the shouts in Revnant's Toll so far. Since I don't spend much time there due to the performance hit this has never been a problem for me. Seriously though if it's annoying then Blist people. You have tools available to you, and if the problem is your list is full due to RMT spam then rest assured you can probably delete every single one of them with no ill effects. Those accounts are always shutdown or abandoned very quickly and they never return after a few days.

Since this is certainly a concern that has been anticipated by the GMs, I can provide you some preliminary answers to your questions.

Abuse of the /random command to flood chat can be considered a spam violation and should be reported to a GM for investigation. This can be just spamming random repeatedly in public or making offers that incite the spamming of the random command from others. If you know that you don't want to see random results, a chat filter will be added under Character Configuration > General Tab > Log Filters > Announcements > Random Number Messages. While this can certainly help people who want to activate the filter, the fact that there is a filter for random results does not mean that spamming of the random command is ok because others could just block out spam if they didn't want to be bothered by it.

As for casinos, they are treated like trade agreements. This means that you should ensure clear rules are agreed upon in the game before engaging in this type of agreement, since the GMs can only enforce the terms of the agreement that was made in the game. So long as the agreement is upheld, the GMs should not need to get involved. If you do not feel that the agreement is upheld, you should report that to a GM for investigation for Fraud.

While pointed out in each paragraph, I will reiterate that suspected violations of the rules should be reported to a GM for investigation, and a GM will determine if there was a violation of the rules and take appropriate action based on the results of that investigation. I hope this helps to clear up the GM position on the new feature.

They probably already did. Super fast way to make Gil and it seems like it's been legalised so they don't have to worry about bans like with their bot accounts. Suppose i'll just have to make my black list a lot bigger and forget about it.

It's the same two people that are spamming shout chat in Rev Toll for this crap, that are running two seperate PF groups for it as well. It's seriously stupidly annoying

? I guess it's because I spend the majority of my time outside of heavily populated areas, but I've yet to see one of these old school FFXI-era things. Even for the short time I spend in areas like Mor Dhona, I haven't seen any yet. All things considered though, they're probably doing this heavily due to the fact that the Gold Saucer is coming soon, so the potential suckers are likely to change over (even though you're probably not going to make any huge potential earnings there). Would be pretty "funny" if they end up setting up shop in that area after it opens. It'd be like going to Vegas and seeing one of those cliche street corner scammers setting up a folding table with paper cups and a ball inside of a casino itself. I wonder if there could be some sort of terms violation exclusive to the Gold Saucer that can be implemented lol. It'd feel right to have measures in place since that place is much more of a place of professional business as any other location in the game.
