World of Darkness - Trolling Behavior - Stop It

There was a bard the other night that started begging for us to kick him, after the second boss, because the piece he wanted didn't drop. I said no, we're not kicking you, but you can leave and take the penalty. Oh boy, did the childish ranting come out. He tells us, fine then I'll just stand around AFK and do nothing the whole time until you kick me.

Sometimes I honestly wonder if I'm playing this game with 13 year olds based on "me, me, me" mentality and the childish behavior I see.

I once had a tank in Gaurda EX who threw a fit after a few wipes and got into an argument with the rest of the party. He decided to be a jerk by standing around and doing nothing and then laughing when people started to quit. My friend reported him and a GM replied back very quickly.

People need to use the report feature more.

It's why I am hesitant to do WoD. ST wasn't bad but I remember back during CT when it first released, wiping on trash mobs at the beginning, people just trolled hard and pulled. People just left and ruined the entire run. :/ There was another troll in WoD. During the Cerberus fight you get hit with Innerspace (The Minium AoE Spell.) He ran into the other alliance which WASN'T being eaten and threw out in alliance chat. "CERBERUS EATS ALL THE THINGS!" Luckily people dodged until the debuff wore off but as a Healer I was not amused. Some people got a laugh out of it, but it could've caused a wipe.

I just completed my first WoD having not watched the youtube videos prior.

I saw no evidence of trolling, however things are being done differently..

Ready check - not ready - No problem, the run goes anyway.
Immediate pull, no waiting.
Casting of Protect and Stoneskin - Gone. No longer done. Immediate pull disallows time to do it.
Lockouts - no more waiting a few seconds, for late arrivals (where healer would not cast rez, they had to return to shortcut)
Raise at the end, for those who die last few seconds - no longer done.

Went back thru ST afterwards. Same thing. No more protect and stoneskin, lockouts are acceptable, early pulls are the norm.

It would seem, that full alliances with protect and stoneskin would bring down the bosses faster than having lockouts waiting. Oh well, there are super-smart gamer decision makers out there who know far more than I ever will

WoD has alot more wipe mechanics: The 1st boss is just ridiculous with all the things you have to pay attention to,so even if you know the mechanics you can still die if you dont do/go to X in time. 2nd boss is somewhat reasonable. Cerberus is also a mess.

Combine that to trolls then you get a complete mess of a time. I find that there are less people purposely trolling after reset since nearly everyone there are trying to get a piece. And they'll either just leave willingly or afk to get vote kicked.

Its nearing the end of the week, however, is when the trolls come in full force.

And that is why complex mechanics outside of the coil raids will never be fully utilized or appreciated.

Q: How many trolls does take to screw in a lightbulb?
A: No one will ever know. They are too busy screwing over other people for lulz to ever getting around to lightbulb.

But seriously, it comes down to numbers and statistics. Trolls do show up in 4 player content, but given that there are only a finite number of trolls, the larger the group the more likely your will encounter one. That is why the hunts get trolled most often by early pulling trolls, because it takes only one to screw things up for everyone else. And something like CT/ST/WoD gives them the big audience they crave.

Lota, on the other hand...lots of Trolling (especially the last boss...Ancient Flare is nearly an insta cast. I'm calling him out on it now)

I've only seen one troll in WoD so far, and they were dealt with via a heavy hand immediately. Ninja ran in after an impatiant "Just pull." on the five headed dragon while people were still coming. Some peeps got locked out (luckily not a lot) and the tanks had a difficult time gaining hate. That one ninja seriously almost wiped us from the beginning because of that. "Never do that again." *Ninja kicked*

In the LoTA trolling I've experienced/can remember, it was always the Atmos part >_<

I've thankfully never seen this happen, ever. What I do see happen ALOT, is this so called "Verbal Abuse", and it's almost always the other parties fault, not the person being chastised. If you choose to have a big mouth and start things with someone else by running it off, you have no right to expect them to not retaliate, foul language or not. Nobody should stand for any form of abuse, and they shouldn't be bullied into thinking that it's okay to be talked poorly about, then threatened with reporting after they retaliate. It seems people need to just grow up and be adults, and stop whining and running to the GM's every time something doesn't go their way. I'd be curious to see how many of you people weren't actually at fault for verbal harassment. I'm sure those numbers are very low.
