Fresh 50 BLM, need to be T13 ready asap advice.

I've just recently come back to the game, and hit 50 with my BLM(haven't played it at 50). My old raid team has asked that I come play a caster for a player that they have lost. They are currently on T13 progression. I have chosen the BLM for obvious reasons. My gear level is 79 with an ilvl 95 staff(Levi).

My request is for advice. I need direction(a guide will work) on how yo play BLM at end game level. If Puro's sexy guide is the deal then just let me know. What opinions I would like the most is on how to gear up. My plan was to farm ST for the weapon/gear/sands and fill in spots that I don't get drops for with regular tomes. I'd also run WoD when I can and use Poetics for BiS pieces.

    Thanks for any help.

If your static group wants you to rep their caster, they should help you gearing up by farming SCoB. With the gear they have right now, it shouldnt be long to burn and gear you up. If they don't want to farm, well, they suck for not helping you even if they want you. A good static will ensure that the gear lacking member gets something for the good of everyone.

That's part of the plan but I'm talking more of what I can do on my own and what I should be looking to get.

    - Max tomestones of poetics each week, if possible
    - Get through ST and limp into WoD long enough for 1 item drop per week.
    - Do the weekly CT/ST/WoD quest for 1 carboncoat per week (upgrade poetics accessory to i130)
    - Work on hunts. Allied Seals are worth carbontwine eventually (upgrade poetics armor/weapon to i130).
    - Work on relic weapon quest. Can be VERY long, and dropped weapons can be just as good, so this is very optional.

i79 may not even get you in the door to those yet, but they're the things that get you relevant gear outside of coil raids. You may need to do a few things first just to build up to those: unlock dungeons and primals, run random things to get temporary gear (there's a minimum ilvl some places), etc.

A good way also is to get a pf up for every content you havent done, some people look for these for soldiery bonus. They will carry you through all content, you'll get sold bonus to gear up faster. Otherwise, what he said.

Farming ST is a good start, but farming Coils for gear may be more time efficient. With so many people re-running them for nexus light, queues are usually pretty quick, and you'll have plenty of opportunities for caster gear to drop, along with gaining soldiery and poetics. Also, the new dungeons drop ilvl 100 gear, which is the same ilvl as ST.

Here is how I'd gear up (any class at this point).

First priority: Run WoD each week for a free i120 piece and Max poetics. (This should net you two or so i120 per week)
Second priorities: Get soldiery doing weekly CT raids and free i130 accessory upgrade. Get soldiery pices to fill in missing 120 pieces
Next Have your new raid team farm a few T7s and pass the sands and oils to upgrade soldiery pieces. (Seriously they only need to run it like 4 times to get you the sands and oils). I wouldn't bother farming ST if your team can do this for you. If they can't spare 4 runs of T7 for you, I don't know what to say

In one week (with enough soldiery farm and the T7 runs) you could be all i110 with 1 i120 left side, and an i130 piece on the right side without even doing hunts or random drops outside of one WoD piece. (I think it would be 5 sands and 4 oils so 5 T7 runs). May not be T13 ready... But well on your way in just one week.

To get the soldiery just do all the content you haven't done for the soldiery bonus... Shouldn't be at a want for people to run with if you advertise that like a previous poster said.

Check out the gear calculator at http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/ for your BiS and plan accordingly. Your ultimate goal should be hitting the accuracy cap at 515 accuracy. If there is a Monk in your team you will want an absolute minimum of 6100 HP, if no Monk, 6300. The HP checks in t13 are hell on lower geared characters even when fully mitigated. You can always put on a VIT jewelry piece if you're far from the HP goal, my team's first run of t13 was actually in a ton of VIT gear, even for our healers. You'll also want to find someone with a parser and practice your rotation on a dummy. You've been gone for a while and you're new to the 50 BLM but the DPS checks in final coil are very tight, you'll want to pump out as much deeps as you possibly can and the only way to find out your sneaky DPS tricks is to blow shit up for hours on end.

If your old raid team has a 4* crafter, it's pretty easy to farm the mats for a full crafted i110 set.

Could then be melded fairly cheapy if you SB (while farming the mats in T4!), sell the rarer IV's and buy cheaper III's to pentrameld.

With a melded full i110 set (inc crafted i110 staff), you could be at 515 accu and 6.4k hp pretty easily and ready to start t13.

Then do WoD and cap poetcis for further upgrades.
