When duty finder pops and you click commence, it should auto change your class to the class you queued as (and remove you from combat to allow you enter)

I've missed out on several Duty's in the past because I've been doing fates when it Duty finder pops and had to run away as far as i can only to be stuck in combat so can't change class.
