This is just a speculation General thread so we r just theorizing...and discussing.

Wt do u think about that new Jobs hav NO BASE CLASS. I mean....r them in fact a base Class and then in the future they Will have a job? Or SE hav no idea For theyr relative base classes and called them a JOB bcoz of that? Im concerned about the balancing....

I hope they just remove class/job. I think it's so silly that we need to level other classes to get the job crystal.

I'm worried Square-Enyx are moving away from the armoury system, and Heavensward's new jobs not having classes is the second hint of that (Rogue's cross-classes being available to no jobs was the first sign).

I have recently started dabbling a lot with Marauder instead of Warrior, and I enjoy what it brings to my groups. I worry that comes Heavenswards, the three new jobs might not even HAVE cross-class skills for any other job, let alone cross-class skills available to the base classes.

I suppose when I read how people dislike having to level other classes to get "core" abilities (swiftcast, provoke, etc.), Square might be doing the general player a favour. I, for one, miss the more open-ended aspect of 1.0, that has progressively disappeared since 1.21.

If you haven't been following, short version: Class->job progression is too limiting (keep in mind jobs give you only 5 abilities on top of the the base class, so branching a la ACN and SCH/SMN doesn't work very well.)

I know SE has mentioned that they would like to move away from the class > job concept for future jobs. I would like to think that, A)this is because it seems like we already have most classes. They are essentially the base roles one would find in just about any game. B) They might be moving to a job 1 + job 2 = new job format. Which seems interesting.

Oh man, combining jobs would be pretty awesome. But I don't think it will happen; the direction they're going for the game is strongly typed jobs/roles.

But in FF, the job system usually fills the role of class systems in other games. From what they've said... What I took from it is just that the base classes just hadn't turned out to be as good as an idea as they thought. That doesn't preclude alternative systems in the future, but they haven't shared any info if they're going to do anything more than divorce themselves from classes.

But I'm just happy I'll get to play the new Jobs from level 1.

This changes absolutely nothing, it isn't like classes have had any importance at all.

The fact, that every job had already 2 sub classes before 2.4, should have be clear enough that the old jobs don't get Rogue as a 2nd or 1st sub class. Not without revamping the whole jobs balance again.
