Why does it have to link every single item in the chat?

Why?

I send my retainer out, it links venture in the chat.
I gather Water cluster, it links cluster 5 times in the chat.
I feed my chocobo O'homoro berries, it links berries in the chat 20 times...
I craft Silver brocade, it links every single item that was used for synthesis and brocade itself in the chat every single time...

I do not need all of this link spam, tywm >.<

Edit for those who do not read past first post:

In my chat I want to see what I do. What I do not want is pop up boxes hovering over my text and preventing me seeing it. And I do not want to turn them ALL off, since then I will not be getting any pop ups that I want to see (ie items linked by other people).

It is not silly. It would not let me see chat when I scroll through it because stupid popups cover it all...

you can change what the chat displays in your chat message options tho (the little gear next to your general/event/etc tabs).

You can only turn of ALL pop up boxes, but I do not want to do that. I still what to see what people link for me, also dungeon drops. And all these items (crafted / gathered / used) being linked by themselves have absolutely no reason to be there..

That's not quite what Tenshi was getting at. You can choose what to see and what not to see. You can turn your crafting stuffs off as well as all others, etc. The links are here to stay though, so we either have to deal with it or adjust things to "not" see them.

I totally agree.
These notifications are there because some people get very absentminded and forget they did them in the first place. You can turn them off.

You have a total of 4 tabs. Each tab you can configure entirely to how you desire them to be. Not everything has to be in just the one tab ^^

Configuring the tabs does not change the fact that pop up will cover whole chat box for the tab that contains the links. Is it so difficult to understand that text lines do not bother me, in fact, I want to see them (even if in separate tabs). The problem is I can not see the text lines since pop up cover them.

Have you moved where the pop up boxes appear on your screen? You can move them around so that they won't cover your chat box.
